Hope it all goes well with the tests. I highly recommend a new book out by the knowledgeable Dr. Michael Greger titled "How Not to Age", filled with evidence based nutritional advice. I have nothing to do with the book or Greger, except that his info on using science based nutrition etc has brought me out from great illness and basically saved me. I'm in my late sixties and have become a believer in how what we eat dictates what our health will be. Good luck Tim!

Best of luck the tests will prove you in good health. Contrast fluid feels a little warm, in a sort of heated seat in a car comfy way. All you have to do is breathe in, and hold your breath till your told to breathe out again. You off course know all of this professor, but for those who don't, and who might find radioactive material to sound a little dangerous and scary, I think it is important to tell people that it really is a piece of cake. Too many, especially men, wait too long before seeing a doctor, and as a result need longer and more intrusive treatments than would have been necessary, had they sought help earlier. Today's keyhole surgery, modern x-ray eguipment, ultra sound examinations and more also means that the list of discomfortable or unpleasant medical tests, or ditto treatments, gets shorter and shorter. I had major bowel cancer surgery, but thanks to keyhole surgery was back working 4 days later. To avoid blood cloths I had to take Fragmine, a bloodthinner taken by syringe, every evening. But thanks to good insructions from hospital staff, that too went like a dream. Even the chemo treatment started 6 weeks after my op went much better than I had feared. Thanks to the tablets I had prior to chemo treatment I never wommitted or had any other significant side effects. And apart from the day I had chemo in hospital, and my vision got a bit blurred afterwards - worse side effect, actually, pressure around the eyes before liquid was released and the eyesight got blurry - making driving unsafe. But that was over until the next day. I could both drive and work the entire time I had chemo. The worse cancer experience was neither the operation, nor the chemo treatment, or any test related to them - even if remembering to take chemo tablets morning and night is an adjustment for someone who isn't used to take medications - but the 2 weeks before the op. When I both knew I had cancer, and felt the pain of it.

I had one of those tests once. They injected one arm with the radioactive fluid so they could not use that for subsequent blood tests and when they did try and take blood the first nurse always failed after two attempts so they called in another one. They were running out of places to stick needles by the end of the day!
