For those wondering about why we did the stem wall this way: We wanted to do more of a traditional stem wall, but this is what the engineers called out. We had already spent nearly a year trying to get our plans (on top of years of planning) and just wanted to get started on the build. Thanks for watching!

This is a lot of work and cost for post frame structure. At the end of the day, you differently had the correct engineer design it for both of you. Thus, you spent your money and time wisely. Every item was checked off correctly. The concrete had the perfect tension in each box that carried the post. This is far better than other methods that you find here on KZbin, including the 2 big ones that specialize in post frame construction. The combination of 3x3 spread footing and the stem tied together insures a uniformed anchorage. Cast-in-Place brackets, that is icing on the cake. Keep the excellent work up. I looking forward watching you achieve your mansion. 😎

Was all that lumber, plywood and your time cheaper than a form-a-drain footer and ICF stem wall? Wonderful barndominium foundation 👍

I was thinking this. 🤔

We did price it out and it was similar in cost, but we stopped looking into the ICF when our engineers told us we had to do the 3x3 footings under the posts/built into the wall. Thanks so much for watching the video!

If your inspector would let you I would weld the matts. Some will and some won't. Makes it a lot quicker and saves the $1200.
