Dear Kyle, I'm a former resident of Western Mass,where I raised my family; now living in Troon Scotland. Bless your heart you provide me with my touchstone, keeping those memories alive and well! Your work is so admirable in so many ways. Your not only talented, you are also a man of character. I've been watching for years but what moved me to write you was seeing your oil painting of the cabin at blue light... I'm an artist myself. I'm 70 and the work that touches my soul are those like the one you just finished. Your strokes are very reminiscent of Van Gogh. Like the Zen Man says keep your work coming from your inside out..... don't work to copy or perfect what you see in other paintings or artists.... .dude you have it already. If I could offer a wee help...make a pale light blue wash and stroke or touch it threw the background ( it will make it receded a bit and establish a little more of the blue light ambience your going for. It will also help to distinguish foreground and background) but go slowly...you can lift it with a clean cloth if you apply too much....use those instincts...you got it!! The very best to you Martha Nightingale

Truly, you are a poet, artist, one who shares his soul! I'm an elder, son of N.E. in the western reserve of Ohio, living next to the cuyahoga river in a town t hat used to be a mill town! Walk every day, love hudson! Get yourself a Labby pup, you'll thank me after he/she is grown. They love the woods more than you do. It was great to see you get back to your childhood roots in this one. Stopping by the little red house, hanging out with Hudson, the spontaneous outdoor adventure on your own, tapping into your creativity by painting.. You’ve really been feeding your soul in new ways this winter! And by the way, I’m so impressed with your painting! It’s uniquely stylized and it relays the sweet comfort of the cabin so well. Kyle be sure to sign and date your painting. Suzette and I have seen a lot of changes since 2017. We went to learn how to pastel paint with a group last Thursday night. Suzette and I and our granddaughter group painted with other members. It was a scene of the trail, in Wekiva State Park, such a wonderful experience. We’re signed up next month for another art class which we’ve always enjoyed painting, and crafts. Covid changed so much of our lives and our hobbies. Glad to see you are enjoying the wild and the wonderful nature surrounding your area. We have been in central Florida since 1961 which has changed as well! The view out the loft window never gets old. It reminds me of the river just across the busy road from me on the property of some friends. My husband and I like to go walking it (with their permission) and I never get tired of photographing the river and daydreaming of a little cabin next to it.
@marilynwargo628810 ай бұрын
Again, a little bit of everything and altho very little snow, seeing into the woods as buds on branches change the color of the woods before leaves obliterate that deep view. I was home again and I am very home sick. The forest and the streams, the stone walls and building all a part of me. I used to build tree houses. If I could I would spend a few seasons in a tiny A frame like those. Barefoot in March grounds you to the Earth and gives you strength from the trees and streams that are powerful entities of that world. Your cabin is feeling complete. The painting was delightful. Happy Spring to you and yours. mar in the Rockies

In our modern world, storytelling is becoming something of a lost art. Not the grand, sweeping narratives of novels and films, but the ordinary stories of everyday life - conversations over garden fences, recounted memories in front of the evening fire and musings shared whilst sitting outside with a coffee or a whisky, listening to the wind riffling through the leaves. Your videos are truly a nod to those bygone moments, and I thank you for them.

Oil painter here- love your work! You may want to try going a color wash of ochre or burnt umber before you start adding elements. It’s ads a warmth and richness that you lose with a white canvas. Also oil painting is wonderful for layering, though the dry time between layers is looong lol. I recommend a book by Harold Speed, Oil Painting Techniques and Materials. Keep on painting!

I would love to buy one of your paintings Kyle 😊 I’m doing out my attic at home as an office and my man cave, weirdly my wife is happily looking forward to me spending hours up there 🤔😂 I’m doing it in a New England beach colour theme inspired by your trip to the coast to work on your friends cottage project and I fell in love with the New England coast. I’ve been to the Maine coast several times myself and seeing your work there last year brought it all back to me. So a lighthouse painting would compliment my office if you ever get the time Kyle 😊 Thanks for a great video as ever. Dave 🇬🇧

The thought jumped into my head while you were exploring the woods around your cabin...you should draw a map, sort of winnie the pooh, hundred acre woods - style. Draw the cabin by the river, the old stone wheelhouse, the abandoned bus, the old camp with the a-frames, any unique trails, streams, or structures found in the woods around you. Anyways, great video as always!

Another great video. I am assuming the problems with the town and the off-grid cabin have subsided. After watching this video, I would NEVER sell that place. Fight to the end. It is just too special and will be VERY hard to find something similar for the $$$ you have into it. Location, location, location. I messaged Mom about a skully cap, as I seem to have accumulated quite the number of these style caps from a company out in Boston. That one looked great and would love to get into one made locally.
