I know it's been way too long since the last feature lenght backpacking trip video, and this is a little bit of a different vibe, but I hope you enjoy it. All my footage for the previous month's video was lost due to being literally ran over by several vehicles at the trailhead :o Needless to say I was a bit dismayed by that, but decided to inspire myself by doing something a bit different. I'm currently down in the Great Smoky Mountains with my wife about to film a fresh new winter backpacking video in my typical format, so stay tuned for that very soon. For what it's worth though, I really did enjoy switching up the approach for this video, and I hope at least few of you more die-hard viewers out there do too :)

@@cgriggsiv Searched along the road for a good portion of time. I managed t recover a good portion of various mangled parts. Unfortunately the metal SD card housing spit open and the pinky nail sized SD card was never found. It's a shame because if was a super interesting trip with variety of weather conditions and mishaps along the way. Something like this was bound to happen at some point. I'm actually surprised I made it 10+ years before something like this happened, so its all good 🙅♀

When You were gone, I took the time to explore Your efforts thru the years. And oh Sintax77, what You’ve done! Standing on the side of a mountain, feet dug in at a risky angle, cold wind in Your face pointing at a storm blowing in, while You’re thousands of feet up. Wow. What a tough, hard-nosed hiker You are! The things I’ve learned, the places I’ve seen thru Your well-produced videos! You lead the pack, Sintax77 and I’ll always be grateful for what You’ve shared. P.S. The cabin and land are beautiful. Thank You once again for sharing it all with Us. Respectfully and Sincerely.

I am impressed! Wow! At the cabin you refilled the inside wood stack with logs-you used 3, you brought 3 inside. You topped off the battery unit, you swept the floor and made sure the cabin was shipshape for the next visitor! Also, on your overnight trip you again left the site the way you found it, AND made the smart decision to return to the cabin! Just shows old school values and common sense are still out there! To top it off, you carried the stuffed critter your wife put in your backpack with you, then placed it where you would see it and be reminded of her…loved that shout out to the love of your life! From Barbara in North Idaho (new subscriber, also old school…)

Hello Sintax77, hope all is well. I 🤔 thought this was an Awesome video. Sorry about your camera that's a bummer hopefully you had that camera for ten years and it was about time for a new one. 😬 EEK 😳. Sorry, you couldn't find the SD card and you had to do the 3-day trip over. But I do have to say that I truly loved this video, you took us hiking and camping and showed us how 🤔 to overcome leaving your trekking poles at home when you need them for your tent, you found stix/branches to use instead and you made sure you showed us how to use the branch without hurting the tent ⛺️ I learned a lot from this adventure. I didn't know if it was hunting season 😳 that you were supposed to hang orange outside your blind😳 plus it's good to do it outside your tent as well. But I loved your cabin that deck was amazing, just perfect for a cookout and just sitting and relaxing. Thanks for explaining all the ins and outs of a cabin like that and I didn't know you shouldn't leave the battery fully charged or not charged if you weren't going to use it for a while. Thank you bunches for sharing this Awesome adventure and for all the hard work and time you put into these videos all of them even the videos that don't make it RIP poor video that we'll 😢 never see 😢 lol just teasing You gotta laugh about now what's done is done. Thanks for being so Awesome with a capital A. KEEP ADVENTURING GOD BLESS YOU 🤗HUGS🤗 PS, I'm looking forward to the next video with you and the wife. Awesome video Sintax. I’m local to Tioga county and frequently hike the state game lands and a lot trails you mentioned in this video. Next time you are near camp take a ride into the Asaph Wild area and look for dry run trail off of goodal road it’s another vista spot that offers a beautiful sunset spot and a great place for hammocks! Maybe I’ll meet ya on trail sometime! Happy hiking!!

I'm fairly familiar with the area there. There's a campsite at Darling Run off the rail trail, that may have been a possibility. There's a couple stealth sites just below the state park we've used kyacking before too (not 100% sure on legality, but we've never been bothered). Enjoyed the video anyway, just giving you some ideas if you get stuck in the future. I spend half my summer kyacking and fishing all along Pine Creek. Maybe I'll bump into you sometime.

Your battery was close to be below freezing. Does it have low temperature shut off control? I am concerned that your solar panel charges the battery below freezing, but it running the fan internally kept it above freezing probably. A USB heating pad or unplugging the solar panel could protect the battery.
