Bonjour from Paris, France. Yesterday, by way of accident, I discovered your channel. It is like a gift from heaven, especially in these uncertain times worldwide. I am amazed by what you both are achieving. particularly, as you both have little to no previous experience in all that you are undertaking. Tova, you are beautiful both inside and out. And Mathieu, I have fallen in love with your voice and the way that you cleverly measure your words. You speak English with much more poetry than the typical Englishman. You are clearly both very intelligent in so many respects. The photography is amazing, even with a broken tripod. And the music is well chosen and always in harmony with the subject at hand. I will continue to watch your vlogs with great appreciation. Even though you may not realise it, there is a hidden message in your life philosophy. Merci, Merci.

Mee too. I also absolutely agree. Of many excellent things in these videos from Talasbuan there is one more thing that really sticks out: the pace! The long sequences with nature and animals gives us time to enjoy and feel the peace and wilderness life so mush more than all the videos with 1-2 second sequences. The overall excellent editing clearly takes all the amazing things happening in these videos to the next level. Please, please never speed them up and cut the nature sequences shorter.

I love your channel because there's no "hi guys how are you, here's my merch" talk. You're so sweet.
@Talasbuan
@Talasbuan 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! We agree with you that it can be annoying. But at the same time we recognise that it is necessary for creators to do those kind of things to be able to continue working with what they are creating. We would love to be able to offer some merch to those that are interested, and we probably will do some day, but we dont just want to offer any crappy merch so it will take some time to create and plan.

@@Talasbuan for people who claim to not know the right words in english, "crappy" and "go with the flow" are pretty good English! Lol Also, I'm sure you know what you're doing, but do you think that laying a couple of logs lengthwise on each side of the roof may help to "cut" the snow in two, making it easier to clear the snow from the roof? In French these logs are called "coupe neige." or arrêt neige. Like these in metal : www.google.com/search?q=coupe-neige+sur+le+toit&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwjc_b_YhKruAhVKi4QIHQXjDi0Q2-cCegQIABAC&oq=coupe-neige+sur+le+toit&gs_lcp=ChJtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1pbWcQAzoECCMQJzoECAAQHjoGCAAQCBAeOgUIIRCrAjoECB4QCjoECCEQClDhqwJYuv0CYP2RA2gAcAB4AIABjQGIAeoKkgEDNy43mAEAoAEBwAEB&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-img&ei=L-IHYJyqGcqWkvQPhca76AI&bih=783&biw=412&client=ms-unknown&prmd=insv&safe=active#imgrc=Rcm7jUVW13RtZM

I do enjoy your videos :o) Up home -- Adirondack Mountains -- cold (minus 30F) snowy winters (3-4 ft accumulation) we had houses that were designed like those in Vermont -- because the founders of our town came from Vermont -- called connected farm buildings. From the house you could walk thru a series of unheated rooms -- food storage -- firewood storage -- work shop -- feed storage -- etc -- into the barn. No need to shovel snow to get to your animals -- no need to face the Arctic blast of winter when you had to feed or milk. Due to doors and the distance from the barn -- odors did not enter the house. The snow you have seen this winter reminded me of the winters we had growing up. Good luck to you :o)

Another design feature you may need on the house roof is the overhang along the eaves, I have 2 feet overhang and I can walk on the side of my barn and my house when it is raining and not get wet, with the right overhang the snow will slide off the roof and you will be able to walk adjacent to the building. There is also a tool here in Canada it is called a roof rake it is like a long pole with a bend at the roof end and the rake is like a flat board on the end of the pole. The roof rake allows you to stand on the ground and rake the snow off the roof at least the eve end of the roof so that the snow does not build up so high you can rake the roof each or every other storm and the snow from the roof isn't such a problem.
@Talasbuan
@Talasbuan 5 жыл бұрын
We plan on the "new" cabin to have some kind of roof along the long wall, so i guess its gonna be something like you are writing about. I think we have that kind of rake here in sweden also, we don't have one tough, maybe its a good thing to have!

My Dad taught me to use soap on those pegs. But grease or butter would suffice. Not so much oil because the wood would absorb it and the wood would swell, which you don't want to happen. But of course this is a VLOG that's 2 years old & you have already solved the problem. P.S. Your videography is really VERY GOOD!

Interesting, could you explain a little what it looked like, or how it was made, or just how you prefered to eat it?

Sounds like a barn would be in order for all the animals with their private little spots and for the cows. Just what you need. Something else to build! LOL

Have a wonderful weekend. Your home is coming along well. You are patiently crafting it. Looking beautiful. The little lambs are healthy and strong. Where we live in the US is S E Tennessee. The asparagus is coming through as is the cilantro and basil. We trade with our neighbor their hen yard compost for our garden and we give them old garden plants for their laying hens. They trade eggs for greens they juice. Thank you for your video.

I'm just going to assume that means "house moss" because that makes the most sense to me. 😄

7:48 I gasped when I saw the chicken right under the snow! But I think Tova noticed too and that was what she said.

LOL "But I need to take a shit now!!" VERY funny. They are called 'dowels' or 'pegs'. See, your English is SOO good. I love the sliding door on the greenhouse - great idea. Wine, cheese, sunshine and Tova kisses - what else can do you need? Happy Birthday Mathieu and Happy Easter to you both.
