We are ok! Just so you know :) We didn't talk about the fires in sweden in this episode because it is footage from the whole summer so far an the fires didn't start until after we had finished filming for this vlog. Hope you enjoyed the episode and that you have had a great summer! /Mathias & Tova

I just started watching your vlog a couple of weeks ago and am watching daily to get caught up. I admire your fortitude in spite of your chronic fatigue, Matthias and hope you can get a diagnosis. Thank you so much for sharing your lives. Your videography has improved so much since you started, and you are really helping the time I have to remain home during these Covid times.

I'm a very recent viewer so I decided to watch from the beginning. Your summers are lovely but your winters.....oh my gosh, very harsh! I am happy you are getting your roof done before winter sets in again so you don't have piles of snow IN your house! I'm also impressed with how hard Swedish girls can work. I love watching your vlogs, nice camera work. Your channel is like a combination of other u-tube channels I watch. Homesteaders from North Carolina USA, one of them being Justin Rhodes who teaches how to do perma culture. My Self Reliance, a man in Canada who built his own cabin, outdoor kitchen and a sauna...all with hand tools. Look them up on U-tube you might find them interesting and informative.

One of my favorites so far. Been working my way through from the beginning. Glad you are back sharing with us and hope you can find the solution to your fatigue. Like you said it is the journey. I relate because I and my wife are in our 70s now and have been building a family Cabin up at 9000' in the Utah mountains. This will be our third year working on it as I still work full time and we can only get down here on weekends spring through early winter. Perhaps I will not see it finished but memories made are what really matter. Three generations when we can all gather and work together. Love your vlogs. They are real and from the heart.

Amazing. It's clear that you are adding value and function to your homestead with every video. Sometimes it does feel as though progress is slow, but when you push through it, you will look back and feel a sense of satisfaction and amazement that you were able to find the wherewithal to realize so many of your goals.

Wonderful to hear from you two again. I understand working to trade money and that taking too much time away from your hearts desire. I pray that those of us in the world that are of a basic living and passion to be creative will be blessed to do that. Then the next generation will poses skills that will free them from being absent from family. With love. ❤️ Another Great Vlog!

Thank you! Yes, there is some small debate here about basic income. If every citizen would get a smal amount to cover the cost of food I believe the creativity and small business in the rural areas would thrive. Folks would dare to follow their dreams and create things without having to worry about going hungry the next month.. But I guess we can only dream of such things.. /Mathias

Mathias & Tova! It is so nice to see you both again! I have missed your beautiful vlogs. I am glad everything is as it should be (except for the unfortunate fatigue you still have, Mathias. For that I am very sorry.) The homestead is looking great. The lambs and bunnies are so big since we last saw them. Congratulations on the new lamb and baby bunny. The chicks look great and I can only imagine how often you must go retrieve them , Tova. Your house has really come along very well. You see Mathias, you spent all that time worrying about even vs uneven purlins and just like that it all turned out well once you just started building. You have made another wonderful vlog that is simply the best on KZbin. Continue to enjoy and love each other and care for your homestead animals so well. I look forward to seeing your next vlog...when you get time between everything else you are busy doing. 1.2K subscribers! The word is slowly getting out and you will be full time KZbinrs because of all the subscribers very soon. Keep up the beautiful life!

Thank you so much for your kind words! The chicks have grown now so that they understand the concept of doorway and fence :) My biggest worry is that I would do something wrong that I couldn't fix easily. But you're right, it's better to do it than to live with the fear of it! It would be nice if we could earn what little we need from something we could do from home! And I hope youtube will be a part of that someday. Thank you again for your kind words, means a lot to us /Mathias

Yippii, the roof! And what comes to the weather, it’s been so hot and dry summer here also without rain. It’s not easy with the garden and animals because we have used to collect and use the rainwater for them. At least the hay was dry enough right after the cutting. Your Vlogs are very relaxing to watch. ~Tessa

Yes, It feels good to finally start working on the roof, even though I don't know what I'm doing. Yes, the hay making was easy this summer, but the amount of hay was maybe not as much as it could be. I am sorry that the chronic fatigue continued to plague you (and I hope you have found relief since this episode). I haven't found a remedy for mine as of yet and it is so frustrating because there is so much I want to do and yet I need to rest so much. And while I like my work, I dislike working outside the home because, again, so much I want to do at home. If I had days full of energy, I wouldn't mind as much, but when energy is so limited, I hate using it up on a job rather than at home.

Nice to hear that we're doing something good! :) We have a finer mesh so when the doors are closed they can't get out. But when we are home and they're free ranging it takes a while till they understand the concept of the door. When they happen to be on the outside of the fence when the mother hen goes trough the door, they can still see the mother trough the mesh, but doesn't understand to go to the door to get to her. It's a week or so with this problem, they learn quickly. /Mathias

Just out of curiosity, but have you two ever thought about TEACHING your off the grid living and farming skills by holding training retreats out on the farm? Once you move into the new house, you can put your students in the old cabin...Just a thought...You have much to share, teach and it would be a wonderful opportunity for young couples to return to the land with some skills...

Hi Mathias =) Have you thought about starting a Patreon account? It may be a way to support your progress without having to work through Chronic Fatigue. I have many friends who have this illness and it is so tempting to push on through but often makes the illness worse in the long run. I know this vlog is from last year so may not be an up to date account of how you are now but I would be happy to support your endeavours through patreon. Best, Rebekah

I think you found our Patreon already? ( www.patreon.com/talasbuan ) It has been pretty good for me lately, but really recently I've had some down time. Right now it seems to be clearing up. For me it correlates a lot to how my stomach is. If I stick to our normal diet and avoid sugar it seems to be ok or fine, but if I start to cheat, it won't take long before I start to feel anxiety and fatigue again. I was thinking about maybe talking about this in an upcoming vlog. Thank you for your concern /Mathias

Really love your videos, very authentic and real. Just wondering how much self sustaining is this life style, apart from the food you get from the farm, do you sell any of your excess so you can have a cash flow for your other needs? Is it difficult to manage without working?

hey bro, did you try with some vitamnis ? i was vegan for 2 years and i have chronique fatigue , then i started to take vitamin b12 every day, and vitamin D. That completely helps me in that bad moments and improve my energy levels !
@Talasbuan

Yes! I suspect I was lacking a lot of essential minerals. I would say it is better now. I've been eating a lot better and also supplementing with vitamin D, K2 and fermented cod liver oil for vitamin A. I would say that I haven't experienced fatigue and anxiety the way I was experiencing it back then. I would like to know my Vitamin status, but the doctors here very seldom do those kind of tests.

Har du kollat om det skulle kunna vara borelia? Man kan få liknande symptom av det. Jag hade som kronisk trötthet länge men det släppte av sig självt efter ett tag. Lycka till!
@Talasbuan
@Talasbuan 6 жыл бұрын
Nja, jag misstänkte det för ett par år sedan. Men de hörs som att det är knepigt att testa sig för borelia, att proverna oftast visar att en inte har det fast en kan ha det.
