I finally installed the final flooring in the loft, no more walking on the logs over the gaps. Also cleaned all the dust out of the log house to then put a protective coat of natural tung oil. Hopefully this will keep the logs from turning grey again.

Folks are commenting about the dust - letting it all pile up near the end was much more illustrative of the hard work it took to result in such a dust mound rather than periodically shop-vaccing it up. These videos are done for us, folks. Nik knows what he's doing. And now we know where the downstairs windows are going to go. It really looks great. Thanks Nik, for allowing us along for the ride.
@steveseeger

It makes total sense to do it the way he did in terms of efficiency. A shop vac filter would plug up 100 times if you only vacuumed. I would do exactly what he did, maybe shop vac at the very end once over.

Why building a log cabin in the middle of no where . Reason I imagine is the ability to build with U tube funds . To live there with family can be very problematic for schools and shopping . But then to each their own . Free country. PS there are many other ways to earn a living but need proper education.

For everyone asking why I didn't use a vacuum cleaner. I did it this way because it took me only a few hours and I don't have a vacuum cleared for this kind of job. The time I would need to go to the city and buy or rent a vacuum cleaner I would already be done like I did it. Most of my work has been done with the tools far from ideal for the situation and now you expect me to use a vacuum cleaner... 😆Anyways thanks for watching and for the suggestions!

Nik, I encourage you to build a front porch on the same level as the front door. You probably have already thought of that. It will add to your living space in the warm months and give you and your family a place to enjoy the nice weather. I know this tip is late but when you have a situation where you are creating a lot of dust use a spray bottle of water - one that can create a mist. When you spray in the air, the water catches the dust and brings it straight down to the floor. Spraying the dust on the floor wets it enough that you don't create another cloud as you sweep it up. The cabin is coming on wonderfully - well done :)

Thank for another video. I'm surprised by the shine, the tight joints, and the brightness. Excellent. The value must have increased greatly with the finishing touches.
