Well done for riding with all your gear and a CPAP. Interesting to see you also had the humidifier attached. I have the same device as you and when camping, will use the humidifier when my AGM battery is full or attach the ResMed Air 10 Side Cover which cuts off the humidifier. I don't adjust the settings, I think the machine does that automatically when the attachment is on. I expect to get at least 10 sleeps from my 100 aH battery and i have a 120 watt solar panel for topping up the battery. Your dog has a dream outing with you, gets the fresh air ride, camps and spends plenty of time with the pack leader, or vice versa perhaps? I'm in Australia and I've not seen your battery device here. The weight of the AGM battery is almost too much for me to cope with. The lithium generator style device is attractive but expensive. Pros and cons in life.

The humidifier is attached, but turned off while camping. Scruffles only goes on very short trips for now. He needs better riding gear and accommodations on the bike before I can take him too far. Since shooting this video, I have stopped taking the solar panel for topping off and instead will top off using the bike while riding. I don’t often get to go on trips longer than 2 or 3 days anyway, so one full charge usually lasts the whole trip. Thanks for sharing info about your setup. I find it interesting how things are done in different countries. Be safe and have fun!

Thanks for the video. Very helpful. I am making preparations for moto camping and have found the cpap to be the trickiest puzzle piece to solve. I have read much on this and what works for people but one important piece of info that always gets left out is the pressure the cpap is set to. Greater pressure, more power used. The mask also plays a big part. I see that we have the same cpap and use the same mask, what pressure range is your cpap set for?
@the7thletter4443 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. My pressure is usually at 12. Sometimes dropped to 10 if I’m ingesting air into my stomach. I don’t use the humidifier even at home, so that saves some power also.
@aveguy4513 жыл бұрын
@@the7thletter444 Thanks for the quick reply. Hearing that your pressure is 12 is encouraging. My settings are 10-15 so I should be able to have similar results. I have spent the last few days excited and then disappointed as I learned more about moto camping with a Cpap. I am feeling more positive about this. I just need to dial in what will work best for me. Thanks again.

@@aveguy451 another note- I also don’t bother taking the solar panels anymore. If it’s a weekend trip the power station I’m using is good enough for CPAP, gopros (2), phone, an external battery for my audio recorder, a camping fan/light and a Cardo pack talk bold - for about THREE nights! if I need it more nights, I just charge from the bike or bum some power at a restaurant or store for a bit to get more charge on the power station. It’s been a life changer for me because I can camp in primitive sites or boondock now if I want

1st time viewing your channel, Wanted to give you some warning about your dog/best friend if you didn't already do it.... I had a dog/best friend/the thing I loved the most in this world, That LOVED riding on ANYTHING THAT MOVED ! Especially the Motorcycle !!.I a 35+ year Rider, Have always owned a Street Bike as well as a Enduro (Dual Sport), And 20 of those years I had a Dirt Bike !. And I'm a VERY Responsible Rider ! (Lost too many friends to ride crazy on the Road !!!) And he was very good at "Hanging On" and I thought I was very capable of Hanging On to him when riding !. But we were riding one day and a Car swerved into my lane, And me reacting to the car, By a Hard, FAST Swerve/lean to the right, Faster than anyone could think about reacting !! And my little Buddy kept going STRAIGHT !!! Well, I guess you can imagine what happened !!!. And it was ALL MY FAULT! So, After many (9)years, I started riding with another Chihuahua, Except now, She rides in a Chest Pack(Back pack worn backwards) and is Strapped In !!. She goes where I go !!. And Is NOT connected to the Bike in AND WAY !!. I feel this is as "Safe" as I can make her(Equal to My Safety). No matter How Fast you think you could "Catch/Grab" your dog if something happened, Trust me YOU CAN'T !! It destroyed a HUGE part of me Inside !!!! I STILL HAVE NIGHTMARES about it !! It's been 12 years and I think about that day, Everyday of my life !. Everytime I see a Motorcycle !. So If you don't already have some kinda *Hook/Clip" connecting him/her to you, Incase he/she slips, Please Please get something TODAY !! Cause, TRUST ME , You Do NOT want to experience what I did !!!!!. This is a message/plead to Everyone that rides with their dog/Pet !!!!!.

Truly enjoyed your video! I am in the same boat as you. My budget and weight budget are pointing me to a 21 watt solar collector rather than the 60 watt which is what I think you use. Is the the weight of your solar panels worth it? Or is a smaller solar collector sufficient. Again, your video is exactly what I was looking for!! Tim

Thanks for watching. I have the panel really just as a backup, and would only take it if I’m planning to have days where I stay at camp all day. It is a bit bulky. I have since then started just charging up the generator from the bike during day rides. This is much more efficient. I believe the panel I have is 80 watt, but even so, I find it not enough so I take it with me less and less.

I need some advice about recharging the battery using the bike's electronics. I ride a DR650 or a DRZ400. Not that the bike type matters much.
@the7thletter444 Жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for watching. I have a pigtail installed on my bike's battery (for charging it when I don't ride for a few days). It's a direct connection to the battery, so it works both ways. I wouldn't recommend using it to charge CPAP when the bike is not being ridden, but when it is, there should be plenty of charge. I just had to purchase a cable that goes from the SAE style connector on my pigtail to the type that fits my battery pack that I use to run the CPAP from.

One of the best videos I've seen explaining how to use the cpap while camping. I also use the ResMed AirSense 10 machine. Did you order your converter cord from ResMed? I'm looking at their web site and the cord and a battery clamp cable is 84.95. Is that about what you got yours for? Thanks!
@the7thletter4443 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I believe I ordered it through Aerocare, but yeah it’s about that price. Unfortunately these AirSense 10s run on 24v not 12, otherwise it would be just a straight cable with no conversion needed. I’m looking into getting a Z2 this year for its compact size.
