Nice, Thanks for showing that. Makes me want to go solar. Look forward to the net tonight. KM4AT

Hey Matthew.. Thanks for stopping by and watching.. It works well, UNTIL I have 4 days of fog and no sun, LOLOL... When that happens, I just plug the radio into my 6ah bioenno battery and set it on the desk.. OR I do have a wall wart slow battery charger I can hook up and charge the solar battery overnight if I need to.. but 95% of the time I have enough sun to keep everything working fine.. Thanks for your comment.. I appreciate it and will see you on the net.. 73, Kevin ~ k0klb

@@hamradioqrp-k0klb sorry we missed it. Summertime FL is hard on the get-out-doors-idness…. Katie lost some motivation after her daughter’s accident as well. I’m working on it though. I thought of doing a few on my own, but I know she’s the star of the show 😉

Nice little setup for qrp base station. I have go kit for my ft 818nd in a hardened knock off harbor freight pelican case. It works for me. Normally, I use 3 sla batteries, 12vdc 7 ah , Walmart specials for its power source. However, for my power sources in the house, I use the old fashioned iron core transformer power supplies, in this case both are Astron. But I do have two marine deep cycle batteries on trickle charging with 2 100 watt solar panels out side.
