You know Mike has reached the big time of KZbin videos when he starts wearing makeup. Love the lipstick. (Kidding) I just picked up a second Raddy weather station. They don't really make the product, they private label it. I wonder who makes their 120 watt panels. I swear it looks like the Tishi Hery 120 watt panel I got off Amazon several months ago, even down to the cables and adapters. Even still, Raddy has some nice technical support. You don't get that off Amazon.

Those are MC-4 connectors. I have and use a Baldr 120 watt folding solar panel, works great! I use it with a Bluetti EB-70 power station.

What's the solar controller? I don't recognize it. Is it homegrown?
@W3GYV2 жыл бұрын
It's a $15 Amazon one that is PWM and noisy.(RFI)
@hamradiotube2 жыл бұрын
It is a pice of junk controller I use to demonstrate what a noisy charge controller does to your radio. I do not recommend them anywhere near Ham radio. I do have one in my Little Geek battery box due to the small size, but I don't use that for radio either. As a charge controller they work great, but you have been warned. www.ebay.com/itm/264661135179

Man I love how small my Powerfilm Solar folds up but it’s only rated at 30w…I’m thinking a bigger wattage panel will need to be considered if I decide to use the 7300 one day portable. Nice video Mike thanks.
@hamradiotube2 жыл бұрын
Powerfilm is great but boy are they expensive. This would be a great panel to have for the 7300. I like this a lot.
@K5YVY2 жыл бұрын
@@hamradiotube I won my powerfilm 😎 otherwise I probably wouldn’t have sunk the money into it to get it. the one I have list at Giga for $450 for 30watts (ZFM-F16-1800) 😲

I have a TopSolar SolarFairy 100w foldable panel from Amazon. It's 20w less than the one here, but it folds up to the size of a book and has a ton of accessories. I think it was $130. Works great with my setup.
@RicSpivey2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mike! I'm definitely seriously looking at this panel in particular. I know you're supposed to expect it to output some 60-80% of the max output... Definitely thinking about pairing it with a charge controller from buddipole

I usually get around 5 amps out of my 100 watt panels in the summer. To get 4.9 out of this in the winter says a lot. This is a good panel.

I use these when I am nowhere near a radio, or if I want to demonstrate what kind of charge controller to NOT use. These produce an incredible amount of RFI. You have been warned. But, the work great as a cheap charge controller. www.ebay.com/itm/264661135179

@@hamradiotube ;-( Powerpole the cut ends so you can have converters to use with other people's systems. MC4s are very common in the solar world. You may need their systems and they may need yours.
