Before I go....I saw the part about the hike-in to the stand, walking along the path between the wetland and the forest. Dude....that took me way back! What I wouldn't give to stand in just such a setting once again! Only 10-20 minutes of listening to the woods, smelling the woods, feeling the damp air against my face, absorbing some of the chill....my spirit would be soooo refreshed! I miss "Someplace Special"! Take care, Dave! P.S. The middle of Sep 2024, My "brown-eyed" girl and I did get to spend a long weekend ( our 50th wedding anniversary) at a VRBO near Ladysmith, WI. Cabin sat on the Thornapple River and held some nice Smallies (bass). I spent some time tossing a Rappala off the river-side dock. Caught one 1 1/2 pounder! Had a great but limited time. Wish we could have made our way back up to the Gwinn/Little Lake/Marquette or Munising areas....maybe next year! Be well and enjoy camp!

Thanks! And that is what is fun about football, we don't all like the same team. Many of my good friends are Lions fans and we have a lot of fun and heart ache with it. I do truly feel bad about Hutchinson. That stinks. It's always better when all the teams have their best players playing even if it give your team less chance to win.

How well does your TV antenna work? How many stations are you able to pull? I’ve got a tv up at my place but just watching movies and looking at game camera pictures. Also, how do you keep mice out of your cabin? I was up at mine over the weekend and could definitely tell those little buggers are more active. Wheel of death works great but gets ripe. Trying a Victor electronic zap trap.

We get a few channels. We were listening to the game on the radio because we didn't get the game on TV. Some areas of the central U.P. get all kinds of TV stations with an antenna. But were in a bad spot for that. Our camp is actually mouse proof, never had a mouse inside yet!

About a 45 minute drive. So we can make day trips to the camp. It's a nice option for us or visitors.

I think you know I'll be rooting for my Packers. But I'll say this if you gave me $1000 dollars to bet on which team from the NFC makes the Superbowl, I would have to put it on Detroit. They might be the best team in all of the NFL right now. Love is a maybe to play and even if he plays he won't be 100%. Might be wet conditions Sunday. That may help the Packers slow down that crazy Detroit offense. But for right now, Detroit is the better team until proven otherwise.
