Its still a 3 to 6 year roi at 200 dollar a month saving or about 500 yearly.. I like the idea of solar but i dont use it. Thats not including the cost of the diesel heater and hoping both items last for 3 to 6 years to break even. Being off grid and free energy is attractive but the price to entry is pretty high. What are the chances that batteries last 5 or 10 years? Its awesome that your honest and realistic about everything you review

My first test unit it on 3 years now. Math wise battery rated for 4k cycles. That works out to 8 years given rain days have no charging

I took an old shed and insulated the inside and finished it out like a house I can run a space heater off a generator until it gets warm inside and then it stays warm for a long time you may want to consider creating a office room that's extremely well insulated or make yourself a little office shed I'd be concerned about the fumes from the diesel heater around a pregnant woman or a baby adults I don't think it's a big deal but pregnant women and babies and children are much more sensitive to pollution

Great video with Awesome info in it! got to Love the weather in Maine, if it is not sunny then most likely it is windy out. just a thought. have you thought about adding wind power to your solar setup? i here a lot of people talking about solar vs wind power. most people do Not know that you can use both solar and wind to power/charge the same batteries. i Love watching your videos. have a Blessed and Wicked Good day! :)

Agreed on the wind side. Here near the costal winds of Maine. It would be a great idea. I'm working on it but problem is most cheap units do not have high wind protection and burn out.

The oldest one on my house is 3 years old out of the 4 I have. The key is coming up with a solid mounting and strapping setup like in this video.
