I had an older Land Cruiser and it had a brake preload for the rear brakes to compensate for a heavier load. It leaked. I eventually ran new lines from the firewall to the back and bypassed it completely. Worked fine.

Good times! I don’t miss fixing all my friends trucks after breaking them in the trail, honestly it’s a blast doing that stuff with my son in his Subaru Outback wagon, it’s amazing where those little cars can go with slightly more aggressive tires and that’s it

That truck was super capable! Nicely done, Tony!
@jubalwright4212 жыл бұрын
gotta get a rapid tire deflator with gauge, they screw onto the stem then the valve internals get unscrewed and float in the tool, then the tire gets deflated in 10 seconds in a controlled way by pulling back a piece of the tool, screw valve internal back in, screw the tool off the valve stem ~30 seconds per-tire. I don't 4x4 too often but a buddy who does bought one for me, super handy

My dd is just a olds bravada "awd". I try not to tear it up, but me and my son have 1/10 scale rc crawlers(cheaper than real wheeling.,.....well kinda) but when it breaks you carry it back to the truck, it's incredible what they will do, we went 3.5 miles the other day. I'm sure as my son grows up we will start doing real wheeling. have a totaled parts truck that might be a cheap fun 4x4 project.

Keep an eye on your wheel bearings and such I have heard of a lot of people having premature failures after going to play up there. They assumption is that all the coal dust in the dirt and mud up there gets into everything and wears it out quicker. It might be a bigger issue on dirt bikes and such, thats who I've heard about it from.

I routinely took my 2000 LX470 (with 200k miles on the clock), same color too; to AOAA and Rausch Creek until covid hit and never had an issue. Of course I deleted the hydraulics and put in a 3 inch OME suspension, full skids and White Knuckle OR sliders. Mechanically though, no problems and only the occasional scratch on the sliders. If anyone can, Kyle will get you through those parks with no issues.
