excellent training to get a feeling for the possibilities of the GL - I did a security training in Germany w/ my E-Class - already paid off - if you are interested in buying this full-size SUV I would recommend driver training. And then you fell even more save in this castle ;)

It was incredible. It is the proving ground at the factory in Vance Alabama. I don't know if they ever allow owners to take their vehicles there. You would need to have the off road package on your GL. I will find out if you can go there and let you know.

Driving over well designed tracks that make the car look good is one thing, but real off roading ? Should watch the russian videos and decide.

Gunnar Moeller Every SUV/4x4 manufacturer does exactly the same - Land Rover, Toyota, Audi. You are correct, taking a car on a ‘natural’ course could test the vehicle more. However these course are designed to show the limits of the vehicle to the customer - Inclines, descents, break angles, limits of roll, articulation. If you know the limits of the vehicle, you are much less likely to get into trouble when (and if) your go off road.

GLS is for on road. You want to go off road. There is also Gelanderwagen. Official vehicle of Bundeswehr.
