max legal speed limit for mobilty scooters is 8MPH or 12.9Kph if ur on the road or half that if ur on the pavement. U can get a speeding ticket if ur caught going faster than that lol. They r faster than walking speed which on average is 2MPH. Some of them can go 31 miles before the battery needs to be recharged. But in the conditions they used them in this vid they would only get about 10 miles out of them. The silver TGA scooter 1 of the squadies was using was an 8MPH scooter that could do 31 miles and was a normal unmodified scooter. My scooter is a 4Mph and does 20 miles on a full charge. But if i tried using it off road like these guys i would be lucky to get 5 miles before the battery was flat.

This is why this show has continued for so long, simply because it takes its viewers along for the ride. It doesn't leave you to be a spectator in a theatre. Their cinematography, as well as narration, keep you riveted, and their natural dry wit maintains you through even the most mundane of parts. It is downright fascinating.

Well actually the Half-Track was a very good idea (it's a coppy of the german Kettenkrad used by the Luftwaffe to move planes) . It is perfect for offrowding + if Hammand wasnt stoping to help first pulling James then Clarksen serveral times ,he would of won it. Because the half-truck was the only one that could of go on the short cut early on (like he did in the end).

Nice that Top Gear is bringing attention to an issue that affects many people around the world today. Not that any of these models would come close to those the average person can use out of their existing car, which would have become stuck much faster. Seeing this Top Gear program being filmed was really good fun. I loved shadowing the team and watching one of our Mybility wheelchairs beat the Top Gear presenters. Although I think using a petrol "wheelchair" was pushing it.

Technically it's legal, the laws are pretty old and it just talks about "mechanically propelled". Tracks will always give you an advantage, which is why my next chair's going to have them.
