Very true. You learn more from mistakes/failures than anything else.

I was itching watching you itch, first, great video, nice area, and welcome to the forgetful camper's club! we all forget stuff, even with a list, heck, I forgot two main meals once. three things to never be bothered by bugs again, any bugs. (1) Thermacell (2) Sawyer Picaridin Insect Repellent lotion (3) Permethrin spray for clothing gear and tents. I use all three and never have any problems with bugs anymore. Happy camping buddy.

Oh man, thanks. I do have a thermacell for mosquitos. I don't like putting chemicals on my body or clothing but for the tent and other stuff it will work. Much appreciation for the advice.

Last time I went camping I didn’t plan the route correctly and wound up staying at a hotel bc it would bring me to the campsite at 11 pm. I forgot pillows one trip and that night truly sucked. And I had a buggy trip in Palm Springs def use Citronella that helps. Great cooking and camping vibes! Keep going!

Oh man..sounds likes my last trip to the rim. I had to set up and pack up and move camp spots and it was just chaotic. Need a vacation from the vacation! 🤣 i always carry a leatherman/knife on me or in my glovebox just in case...never know when you need a knife.

I guess that's how it goes. Can't win them all. That is a great idea to keep a knife in the truck.

Only a minor bummer at least. NEVER leave on a trip without checking everything on the list. You can also get a good folding knife for cheap just about anywhere and keep it in your glove box for emergencies like I do. No more camp fires in Tonto as of today for a while as you may have heard.

Yea, a few people told me to get a knife and keep it in the truck for all kinds of reasons. And yea, I was expecting the campfires to stop, with summer kicking in and everything drying up. Thanks.

I forget something every time. And it can be very aggravating. The last few times you’ve been camping you were in areas without cactus. What part of the state were you in previously with all variety of cactus? I’m curious. I thought they grew everywhere in Arizona.

Honestly it just depends what elevation you are at. Tonto National Forest has it all. Lower elevation you will get cactus and when you go higher up, you get more trees.

@@joesoutdoorplaces Also concerned what time of year you are coming. If you are coming, not in summer, I would check out Kofa National Wildlife Refuge too. Coconino is beautiful too. I could keep going but all of Arizona is beautiful. We have the Grand Canyon as well. Ok, I'll stop now. Take care Joe and I hope you have a great time when you come to Arizona.

I have heard the best time to visit is in winter. I’ll most likely be coming that way the beginning of next year. In the meantime I will be planning. Thank you.

@@joesoutdoorplaces Really anytime that isn't summer is the best time. Early spring is my favorite. The snow birds start to leave and the weather is beautiful.
