I bought 2 trees like that, structural, over the summer. 1 had all the leaves scorched a Nd the other not as twiggy, both r going dormant rn. Im waiting til spring to do some work. Ive already hard prunned the one that was scorched. The other is a small bush jus like the video. Both r in garden containers. When i seen them both i knew they would make excellent bonsai within next couple yrs. So expensive tho, i bought one, one paycheck then had to wait till i got paid again to buy the other. Im in not rush, no greenhouse but currently in the process of building a coldframe which the frame is built, bags of leaves have been raked to help keep warm all my trees once plastic is over the entire frame. These vids really help ppl like myself, but ive killed a few cheap trees when i first started out and i really dont want to lose one of my maples. Patience is key for our trees, i jus hope one day i will be alive to see the end rsult into jus continue to ramify.

When one find such a tree in a garden nursery, no matter the price, you just buy it. It´s a pretty rare found. Last year i found a Japanes maple ´Cynthias crown Juvel´ with the perfect nebari and it was pretty expensive, but there was no doubt in my mind. I have never seen this variant before ever and it´s a dwarf variant and have the smallest leafs. It had a big crown, but i cut all the branches back to no leafs at all. I think i will take maybe 5 years to get a good crown again, but it´s all worth it.

Hey I have a problem. I have a boxwood bonsai that’s pretty big and for some reason the foliage on the right side of the tree is wilting and dying while the foliage on the left tree is fine. Idk why it’s dying am I watering it too much or something
@garyjohnson2989 Жыл бұрын
If u live near zone 9 like myself, everywhere I look round ppls houses that have boxwood, the leaves have been scorched it looks to me. But like u, the one side looks dead. I figure was from 2 weeks extreme heat over las part of summer end July and some of August. Couple my maples suffered scorch during that time and I was on a week vacation in Florida.

Ridiculous find. You could have a tree for your entire life and wait for it to look like this. You found a diamond.
@Julian-gt8lw2 жыл бұрын
Very risky, the tree's been growing in this soil for 20 years, why would you be in a rush to repot...
@WeareTheBonsaiSupply2 жыл бұрын
Because of all of the reasons I mentioned 🙂 the soil it is in right now is clay which doesn’t allow for oxygen to aerate the root system, nor for water to evenly penetrate the rootball. Therefore I had to do this procedure which was essentially a slip potting since I hardly removed any roots. I’m setting myself up for success so that next year it can go into a pot.
