Hehe! I knew YOU would appreciate this one, especially the Overkill set... the Overkill shirt is the bass guitar in front of the skull maskot (i think?)... It's definitely not the "Scorched" album artwork! :) There will be another concert review near the end of November for TSO... that one I am REALLY looking forward to!

Regarding Overkill, their album "The Years Of Decay" is absolutely phenomenal and a MUST HAVE. I don't know the rest of their stuff well enough (yet). Don't know that opening band, but I think their idea of a guy dressed up walking around the stage in a mask just might have been thought of at some stage in the past. 🙂 King Diamond is an acquired taste I think. His voice in the early days was quite squeal-y.

Oh trust me... I know about KD and him being an acquired taste... If you'd asked me back in High School what I thought of KD and Merciful Fate, my answer would be totally different than today! :) I used to HATE him... LOL And here I am 30 years later with all the MF discography... KD, not there yet... :) As for Overkill, i only know the videos they showed... and a handful of other tunes...

Overkill is only getting a 45 minute setlist and down their legendary bassist, the godfather of clank DD Verni, on many shows. I’ve always wanted to see Overkill as one of my favorite bands, but I cannot bring myself to “wreck everything” and see Overkill for the first time without DD. Yes, I concur Blitz has the best voice out of any thrash band and he can preform too! Thank you for this review Dan!

DD was there for the Overkill show (at least in Montreal)... he doesn't do every show? And yeah, Blitz can perform as much as sing! Again, not my type of music usually but I did enjoy their show! Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@offthecharts2272DD is out due to having shoulder surgery. They say he’ll be back as soon as he recovers. The guys preforming in the video here are Dereck Tailer, Blitz, fill in bassist Christian Olde Wolbers, Dave Linsk, and New Drummer Jeramie Kling. Thank you for the review and videos. Overkill is one of my favorite bands.

Good review of bands I would not go see even if you paid me! lol! I am, however, quite impressed by King’s vocals… that guy is not getting younger and he still has pipes!

I was at the show in Mississauga last night. The show was great but what a terrible venue. I had my earplugs which helped a lot with the sound but I lost them after they fell out. If they’re going to do concerts in that place they need to do something about the acoustics in that place

Although Exhorder wasn't as big as the thrash bands mentioned, Kyle Thomas is an amazing thrash singer.
