Thanks for this- I'm applying with my local city PD as a clerk and there isn't that much information out there on this job. Tons of videos on what it's like to be a police officer, and very few on what it's like to be a police clerk.

@@Kruziik Nitsej, I am not. The job itself was interesting, the schedule was too difficult for my body to adjust to and my health was taking a hit. But I'd be glad to share my experience. It was worthwhile and I'm glad I did it, even though it didn't work out for me.

@@denakelley4363 was it always like a typical 9-5 job or did you have flexibility when it came to creating your schedule? Was the job excessively stressful that it affected life outside of work? I'm not so much worried about the type of work as much as I am worried about sacrificing quality of life outside work. I'm debating whether to be a police records clerk or an HR person for the city. Thanks for sharing your experience!
