Happy Amazing Birthday, Caroline!!! Deer swim... they don't like to, but they can! I saw a cougar chase a deer, the deer jumped into the lake, the cougar swam behind it for a bit then gave up... the deer swam the entire length of the lake, she was breathing heavily, as you would when you are swimming for your life! She then jumped out and trotted off!

Happy Birthday Caroline. We have tons of deer here in Hampton New Brunswick and also on Darlings Island. My husband and I were kayaking and a deer swam ahead of us from one riverbank to the other on Darlings Island. She was so graceful as she entered the water then swam to the opposite riverbank. It was an amazing experience to witness. 🦌 🦌

Yes, deer can swim. Once observed a buck swimming 1/2 mile across a reservoir in Colorado. A startling sight to be sure. Happy Belated Birthday wishes to you, Caroline!
