On a serious note, I just want to put it out there that this video is all fun and games but we all gotta remember Japan did horrible shit during ww2 to Koreans. I just want to remind ya'll that I am Japanese American... Have family who were veterans on both sides of the war. Japanese and American army. My uncle (Japanese) watched pearl harbor happen as a child in Hawaii and was motivated to join the US military. I think it's important that we don't carry on the resentment from nationalism and make our own decisions to join forces as human beings. In the western world, let's all be family. They think we're all Chinese anyway lol. Koreans

Please correct me if I’m wrong but I think during the Japanese imperialism they forced Koreans to learn Japanese as another way of erasing their culture. I think this is also why a lot of the older generations are less educated because they weren’t allowed to go to school since knowledge = power which the Japanese didn’t want them to have

You're right. By 1943, teaching and speaking in Korean was outlawed in schools entirely. The Japanese were well on their way to committing cultural genocide and rewriting history by eradicating Koreans as a people and claiming ownership of tens of thousands of stolen artifacts, royal books and texts that documented centuries of Korean history -- many of which they still have locked away or hidden somewhere.

The reason the Korean guy who killed for his sister got so much more time than Joe's boy's brother is a result of the premeditated aspect of the crime. The Korean Guy planned to kill the guy with his sister, Joe's Brothers boy just happened to see a rival gang and committed his crime in the moment, no planning. Huge Difference in terms of sentencing, the sister probably got a larger sentence than the brother for being the "mastermind".
