It is said that on the northern side of current island is the strongest current in the Bahamas that will take straight to Bermuda island. That's how the island got its name. It is a dangerous body of water I'd like to see that if possible, because my family are decend from current island, but I've never been there.

I remember going here just after Hurricane Andrew hit. This dock was brand new and in fact, not even totally finished. There was lumber all over the place, way up in the trees, everywhere. I guess they figured it was a bad idea to build a dock here and never attempted to rebuild it.

Hi when we came in to Eleuthera to meet you, we too the Current Pride. This little sleepy village took my breath away as we drove through it. Its on my list also to explore when I come back home. Those are some great drone shots. I always wonder which village would be good to stay in if I come home to visit,

The people on Current Island are amazing. I have spent several weeks with them working at Zion Children's home and at the church. Contact Alicia Munroe to show you around. Her uncle captains the boat across the cut for you. They are building several small cottages there also.
