Well, mind you, the Greek underworld isn't the same as hell. People tend to conflate them. In the underworld, there's a place called Elysium, so maybe that's what the can-can music is referring to.

+Kevin Lane there are two parts of it. Tartarus and Elisium (or something around it). And as far as I remember he went there to this darker part, passing by Sysyphus damned to push the big rock and so on, and the whole deal he went there for Eurydice out of hell and it didn't end well for neither of them, so I assumed the soundtrack might follow it's darker tone

I saw "Orpheus in the Underworld" performed a few years ago. It still applies marvelously to modern media culture and only requires minimal tweaking to bring up to date. Musically it's a marvel. The audience was on their feet during the "Galop Infernal" and I had to keep myself from jumping onstage and dancing along!
