Proper blocking (not holding) is impeding the defender's path and slowing his progress to the point that his involvement in the play is irrelevant. You can do this with quick hands striking (never grabbing), quick feet, repositioning yourself to counter his step, and a mentality that you enjoy imposing your will to win by making your opponent lose. If you close your hand to grab any part of his equipment then he already beat you and you are compensating for your failure. Go get better--footwork, handwork, leverage meanness and violence.

Bro you must have never played football before. The way you block isn’t by open hand palming him chest it’s by grabbing onto the chest pads. It’s not holding as long as you keep your hands inside and on the chest pads.

Bruh I played o-line for like a week before switching to tight end, their coach must be taking a nap in his office cause that o-line sleeping bro, it took me less than a week to stop shirt grabbing and plant my hands on his chest/under his arms, you only gotta grab one spot to be most effective

Thats the point in being a defensive lineman, we are violent and we dont gaf about being held (unless its blatant or across the body) the rusher on this rep is barely being held and yall complaining🤦🏿‍♂️.
