15:00 Cheetahs are not like other big cats because they are not pounce predators, but rather chase-down predators. They are much easier to befriend due to this. If you were to turn your back on a Tiger, Lion, Panther, or Leopard; no matter how well acquainted you are with them - their instincts kick in and if they are hungry, you are seen as prey. Cheetahs on the other hand, if they like you, you don't have to really worry about being attacked unless they feel threatened or just don't want attention. However, Cheetahs are known to be animals with more social interaction and can easily suffer from anxiety, to the point that zoos often will grant them therapy dogs as companions. TL;DR - If you want a 'wild cat' as a pet, go for a Cheetah or perhaps a Serval. Much safer and cuddly at times.

just to correct something minor, a "panther" is not a single animal, but rather the term used for big cats that are native to hot regions, like lions, tigers, jaguars etc. to add on to this, a "black panther" is the term used for black-coloured jaguars or leopards, and is not its own animal.

It's also keen to note that Cheetas rarely, if ever, eat anything their size or bigger! Afaik there's not a single recorded Cheetah attack. Hell people rarely ever even see them because they avoid us 99% of the time in the wild. Also, Cheetahs aren't big cats! That's a specific designation given to any cat in the Panthera genus. They're more closely related to ocelots and Pumas/Cougars.

@@KotalaGod with wild cheetahs, maybe, but there is definitely a good couple of recorded captive cheetah attacks, and I believe I have read that there is only 4-5 recorded human deaths caused by cheetahs (again, I believe they were captive cheetahs)

Volker, he has a KZbin channel, and his content primarily focuses on the cheetahs that he works with or interacts with at wildlife conservations and reserves, but if I remember correctly he has show other animals at these locations as well I love his videos, because I get to live vicariously through him: the cheetahs pretty much always adore him, they love giving him licks, getting pets and cuddling with him, and you get to see how wonderfully goofy and adorable cheetahs are, and the fact that they really are just giant nervous house cats, through his videos This clip is specifically taken from a video he posted 5 years ago, titled "Do Cheetahs Prefer Cold Hard Concrete Or Warm Blankets Pillow & A Friend? | Three BIG CAT Night" There's also a video from 9 years ago titled "Man Uses A Live African Cheetah As A Pillow - Measure Big Cats Heart Rate With His Head". (to clarify, he was spending the night in the enclosure with the cheetahs, I believe trying to record their night-time behavior and whatnot, and he had brought his own pillow and blankets. One of the cheetahs, like a real big house cat, ended up deciding that his pillow was going to make the most comfortable place to lay down, so she straight up just laid down on it, and since Dolph knows cheetahs enjoy contact, especially when sleeping, he knew she wasn't really going to mind him using her as a pillow lol) It's a very cute video, both of them are, and there's plenty on his channel to watch and enjoy, whether you just like animals, just like cats, or you're like me and utterly adore cheetahs
