use sudo ifconfig instead of using ifconfig oly

That's bcuz u are not root. Run this command instead (full path): /sbin/ifconfig that should work. If doesn't check the "ifconfig" full path by running: which ifconfig That will give you the command path, and that's the exact path for you to run on the terminal.
