I saw a video once talking about mirror matches in fighting games and it mentioned how mirror matches are always 5:5 matchups by definition, but that they're not always "good" matchups for the character in question. they made the point that matchups are defined by how well your character can deal with the other character's tools, and how well the other character can deal with your character's tools, and that some characters can't really deal with their own tools so you end up with very bizarre mirror matches. I feel like the same kinda applies to brood war zvz, it's kinda like zerg doesn't have the tools to deal with its own stuff like terrans and protoss do lol

Spoiler: It went to the seventh game, but because it's zvz all those games had a total of 25minutes of gametime, 2 hours of commercials, zvz is not my cup of tea, first 4 minutes of the game is copypasta, and 2 min of interesting moves to decide the game.

Thinking about that game when Flash went random, got zerg, then double offensive sunken on Larva. What made those spaces unstoppable (according to Queen), that can't be otherwise replicated on other maps? They were pretty deep onto creep, not teasing the edge like this one. Just watching this game, the sunken play felt like a huge mistake. If you're pressuring with an offensive sunken (outside of the range of theirs), and rather than defending while the offensive sunken builds, you're attacking first into their defense before the creep colony is even made. What is the point of a putting a sunk there at all?

@@b0lt191 ohhhh yea... I did forget it was a hatch first, also. But noone needs that many eggs on a map. I think they found just the right amount of neutral eggs and where to place them for the maps. Those Plasma and Inner Coven storm eggs can just stay archived, lol. Thanks!
