Wow! I watched the original video with CP, and you put a ton of work into it since then (esp like the Thompson's and silicone cuz I wouldn't want bugs up in there either). Your skillset and knowledge is very impressive! This is exactly the kind of stuff we need to learn to survive the craziness. Looking forward to the outhouse project, and a possible "shower" project. I haven't seen any good "done for you" camping showers. I think a foot-pump one might minimize wasting water? Looking forward to more videos!

Talking about adding a faucet, I'll be getting a Dometic GO Hydration Water Faucet. A friend has one and its great. Internal battery powered faucet that can pump from any source, including quick connections to Dometics own water canisters. The magnetic base lets you use it anywhere, including the bumper of your car, fender of a trailer etc.

That's a nicely pimped out bug out bunkie. If you are going the AirBnB route, I would make sure the solar generator system would be locked up and secured. That would be rather easy to gather feet to the unscrupulous tenant.

I have 5kw lfp battery for backup power in my house i can usually also run indefinitely for power outages from March to Oct with my solar panels . i also have an electric tractor ( that built), an electric utility car plus an EV that i can tap for added power during blackouts.. if you want a cheaper AC system. that i use in cooling my house and my greenhouses.. it just a ground loop ~ 1200 feet at +6' depth that i use for my house heat pump for winter heating. sure I could of used the heat pump to cool the house, which is fine, but running 2000 watts to get a 5 degrees cooler temperature then the ground temp. i just opted to use the ground temp directly for 1/10 the energy usage , I just use a small 40 to 96 watt variable speed pump set at 56watts and connected to rad and fan (140watts) and also into my hydronic radiators . currently I am under a heat advisory of +32C and humdex of 42c outside and it keeps my 1200sf house cool at 24C for around 200w per hour and it feels comfortable . and a couple years ago, when the heat dome went through, and it was +40c and humdex in the 70C outside my house was still around 26c and comfortable compared to what it was outside. where as your 5000btu AC unit is using 500 to 700 watts per hour and only able to cool a couple hundred feet . oh well just a couple thoughts for you..

Hey Dean I was doing some thinking about thermodynamics in greenhouses and I'm sure having water thermal mass would be more effective in direct sunlight. It takes more energy to heat water up than it does anything else in a greenhouse, therefore the more you heat up the water the cooler your greenhouse. The amount of energy that your greenhouse absorbs is the sum total of all light that comes in, so by putting water in the sun and making it hotter during the day would mean it absorbs a larger portion of that energy keeping your greenhouse cool. The math works out solid, specific heat capacity equation, heat loss equation will point you in the right way

Very impressive work, and grrat detail. You would have to pull the Bluetti in winter? Did you need to cut the trees back so no shadows for the solar panels? I am curious about the loft's temperature in winter and clearing the anow from the panels. (Yes, a spring project so not there yet).

Great work 👍 I have the same Bluetti and was thinking to do something similar in my cabin using it for electrics. What’s the gauge of the electric wire u are using, do u just put a plug on the end? I wanted to add a shower also, but thought maybe there wouldn’t be enough power with the bluetti - what are your plans for on demand shower heating, do u think the bluetti can run a small electric water heater? Thx for the video, u definately gave me lots of ideas for my cabin project 😂

10g for the solar panels (overkill but have it), and household standard 14/2 wire (shielded because exposed). Just standard cord end to plug into Bluetti. Hot water heating would be too much for my system. Just outhouse, and for shower and laundry have to go back to my main yard.

@@ArkopiaKZbin That's what I did with one of my systems that didn't have a ground connection. I was going to do that for all of them, but was warned against creating a "ground loop" (a circuit that goes to ground in more than one location). So right now I'm only grounding out circuits fed by solar systems without a ground pin on their charging cable (or who aren't powered from my whole house system at all). Good luck. If you ever go down that rabbit hole of what exactly to do for that and how to do it, I'd love to see a video you do on the topic.
