So love seeing this scenery!! I grew up as a kid on my folk's boat sailing barkley and desolation Sounds. These views just REALLY speak to my soul. Also, I really liked the overhead drone shot of Allie and Bruce on the beach. Thanks for the vicarious adventure.

As per usual the episode was great fun and all Canadian too gotta love it. Excellent camera work and kudos to the editor, recognition for the dedication it must take to produce the episodes. Just the best scenery in the world can't get enough of it. Lets not forget Bruce just as chill and laid back as he can get and I love it. Including Bruce provides me with my weekly dosage of the worlds best dogs Golden's.( rip to ours Tazo.). Thanks for the adventure and entertainment.

You guys are my new favorite channel. I lived in Maine for 23 yrs and the landscape looks similar minus the gazillion lobster buoys in the summer time. The kelpy anchor pile( is kelpy a word?) and rocky beaches with big tides and fog that lingers to at least noon time. Water so cold that it makes your ankles hurt when standing in it. I think you get more rain over there but the thunder and lightning storms in Maine will rattle your teeth out of your head!

Hi guys, I'm the owner of Green Marine Solutions from the Comox, Campbell River area. I'm a marine electrician of 15 years. If I'm understanding your problem correctly, it seems like your ACR is not hooked up correctly,. The job of the ACR is to connect your house and starter batteries to each other when the voltage goes up because an alternator, or shore power is turned on. It's designed to turn off and separate the house and start batteries so you don't drain the start batteries while they are not being charged. The turn off threshold is usually around 13.2 to 13.8 volts. An alternator or battery charger is above this threshold at 14 to 14.8 volts thus causing it to turn on and allow power to flow between the start and house batteries. In your video the voltage was 13.3, probably too low for the relay to turn on. Without seeing the boat I obviously can't tell what's going on, but if you're still having trouble when you get back to the east island, hit me up and we can work out a good deal to get you fixed up. PS, great to see you guys happy and moving forward again after your slump.
@BreakingWavesSailing2 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for the info! Yes that is our understanding as well, and generally it does work in that way except for when the house bank as dipped below around 12 V. We have a lihtium set up so the voltage settings are probably a bit lower then above correct? We are probably going to get our marine electrician that did the install to look it over this summer when we get back to the east side (as warranty work) but if that fails us we will reach out!

Electrical might be a ground issue, the generator would have a floating ground/reference point and maybe the Victron doesn't like it? Shore power would have a solid ground and that would explain why the genny no worky.🤔
@BreakingWavesSailing2 жыл бұрын
Altenator regulator would have the same floating ground reference point as the genny too? It’s odd to me that it only Happens if/when I let them house bank drain to a certain level, and once the bank comes back up (with shorepower), everything works normally again. Planning to get my electrician to take a look when the boat is back on the east side soon

is there perhaps a low temperature sensor on the acr to protect the batteries

I'd throw $200 at it and put in a new alternator. Had problems like this with trucks in the past that ran inverters... I spent money on inverters... Solved the problem for a minute then finally just spent half the money on an alternator and bang problem solve.
