Did you see the orange flame on your oven? Should be blue, air mixture isn’t right or you’ll end up with soot on your food. It may be set up for natural gas and not propane. Keep in mind that propane has a higher btu rating so they need a smaller orfice. Another thing to check, spiders like to build webs in the mixing tubes, pipe cleaners work great to remove those webs. But it’s definitely not burning clean. Just passing along helpful information. See ya on the next one.

Thank you!! When I light my oven it smells, not natural gas just that smell of it not burning clean. The top burners light orange then turn blue, most times. I had the gas guys in our small town check it. Their fancy machine didn't pick up anything- what about your nose! They said everything was fine and not to worry, SMH I felt like they thought they were just dealing with some old paranoid woman. Four years on its still that way.

As a licensed propane technician who works on these things every day it's one of three things #1 if your running on propane the natural gas orifice properly wasn't switched out for a lp orifice #2 the regulator on the back of the oven never got converted to LP or #3 the regulator on your tank is putting out too much pressure. It's not likely an air adjustment issue given how orange it is . I've been following you guys for a long time Love the videos and good luck !

Best way to dry your laundry, "solar dryer", thats how I'm going to dry my clothes. Got the stainless steel clothes line up before it down poured rain yesterday. Will be building my outdoor sink/laundry station , hopefully, this week. I want to include water catchment off my storage barn into the blue food grade barrels that I have. Using one as a natural filter with sand and bio char. Then down to my utility sink. Building a drainboard to use as a table for whatever its needed for, i.e. laundry baskets, fruit baskets or drainer for dishes. Keeping the mess outside as much as possible.

Great deal on those panels! I wish they had these Bluetti five years ago when we went off grid. The solar technology is moving so fast it’s hard to keep up. We went from lead acid to lithium a year ago and the difference is night and day. A Bluetti would be a nice backup for us on those long cloudy winter days.

Electronics was my hobby from childhood. I had an uncle buy me an electronics course and kit in 1958 and I built a a project for the science fair in the 8th grade which won third place, then became an avionics tech in the Air Force. I have messed with solar on my camper, but would still have to study a bit to try and take our house off grid, but our utility bill is so low with all our high efficiency heat, AC, and water heater that I have little motivation to do so. Messy plumbing is my downfall...

Jay and Jen, Fruit trees need a lot of sunshine and good drainage and protection from deer and mice. Both mice and deer will chew on your trees in the winter month and the trees will die. In the warmer month bugs will devour your trees and kill them unless you stop them. I wish you a hearty good luck with your fruit trees! I have replanted mine several times next door in Wisconsin.

Maybe that film on your solar panels is space dust. 15,000 tons The scientists estimated that a total of 15,000 tons (13,600 metric tons) of cosmic dust rains down on the Earth annually, though most of the material is lost on entry as it burns up in Earth's atmosphere. This leaves 5,200 tons (4,700 metric tons) of interplanetary dust to settle on the surface of our planet each year.

Check out the Ellen White's (Austrailia woman) proven planting method for fruit trees. She digs a substantial planting hole first, then puts heavy stones around on top of the roots to anchor them, then adds the top layer of soil over the rocks. Why use the stones? Because if high wind storms pass though your fruit orchard, the trees will not be blown over and killed since the weight of the rocks supports them much better than just soil layers would support them. Something to consider when you work hard to get them planted and wait untll the actually produce fruit, it would be tragic to lose these trees in high wind storms.

Glad to see the new panels! Two things you will never have to much of: solar panels and water totes! Start looking into a counter top convection oven. Jen has to be going through propane like crazy with all that bread baking. It would be good to run it off the solar. I just lucked out with 6 340 Watt Q cells at $50 each. It doubled what I had running into my EG4 inverter. I have managed to cut my electric bill down to $34 a month. Like you said, I don't know why everyone isn't trying this. I now have 6 power stations and they each have dedicated solar panels charging them. And, like you, I am still learning. Take care, be safe and God Bless!

Skip the soy bean oil totes. I got one free and that oil was so sticky I couldn't get it out with the hottest water from the car wash! Some of it is still stuck in the back of my pick up.

You ever watch DIY solar power with Will Prowse? 370 W solar panels for $103.00 brand new. 30 year warranty. I'd say that's the best deal at this date in time June 2024. Like you said though, maybe technology will surpass even these Aptos brand.

@@OffgridwithJayandJen I guess we need to find someone to split the costs and the panels. How many come in a pallet because he never mentions you have to buy that many at a time? We're on grid with 13 year old panels and no batteries. Thinking about Bluetti because of the app and plug & play but also having the capabilities to pack them up for camping. We're retired too and might buy a 5th wheel to travel. My dad was from Michigan and I still have relatives there. We have relatives all over the US. Thanks for the videos, I learn from yours too & we never miss a video.

Ah, the dirty old man in alaska getting back to you with some ideas. I used a washing machine exactly like yours. It gets it done better than a scrub board and tub for sure but I had terrible luck with two of them being made of such cheap plastic and breaking. Not a easy fix either. I stumbled onto a machine for a bit more cost and not having much space really did need the washing machine bad. This was out of stock so took a chance on a machine called Comfee. You put the clothes in one spot and once its filled with water did everything in that space allowed. Here is the great big difference!! All metal gears that don't strip out and the clothes when done are spun out so dry that you would think they had already been in a dryer... just damp and not soaking wet per say. It did cost about two fifty when I bought mine and shipped to the door. It was fast shipping and after two years of heavy clothing that by the way holds way way more clothes than I thought, are really clean! Okay now for the both of you kids who are really trying to get some grass growing and have a green lawn... a cheaper way, a great way to feed this lawn is just so simple its like falling off of a log. Def fluid used in diesel engines is straight up Nitrogen. Research this Jay! Dang it, I do more than just wish my lady was a Jen who by the way now looks like a Acorn for the tan going on in your an my heat waves ...... I don't miss those forty below nights at all as the days are now getting shorter and closer to winter is in my pea brain. Anyway getting back to the Def fluids, walmart or even the gas pumps sell it and its way cheaper than the isles of fertilizers you try to mix and match. Put in a hand sprayer with water and pump it or put in a sprinkler,,, or say those bottles you hook onto a hose and wa la your on the way to GREEN LAWNS. I had a massive bad heart attack and had some stints put into my heart... spent the week in the hospital and ran up a new bill for the government to solve. Close to a million dollars for this one. Now there is the price of water delivered to your door! Hope all is well and you are looking good kids.

@@OffgridwithJayandJen I tried it on our garden and its taken all the plants from yellow to bright green and even the grass on the sides of it took to growing quick. I do hope that you check out the washing machine as its going to sell itself many times over if you do get one.... serious as my heart attack was to be sure its really the best investment for clothes you will make. I even wash blankets in mine

I reversed type II diabetes by following the proper human diet. I have proof from MyChart, the website that I get from my Dr and healthcare team. My A1c last checked in a blood draw was 5.3. On KZbin watch KenBerryMD and see what he and his wife tell about it. I followed first the KETO OMAD Diet but had better results with OMAD Carnivore. They have a Live Show where they answer questions just about every Monday (Tennessee time)
