This is the most welcoming home I have seen on these videos. Too many videos I have seen all jump on the minimalist bandwagon and are usually boring grey and white and resemble the show home look. This family have a cozy home and a lovely comfortable place to raise their child. Regardless of what any frothing minimalist may think.

This is awesome and your home is lovely! I would love to try to live off grid. I think some of the conveniences we take for granted are wasteful and tend to make us lazier than we need to be. @@Jo-Leaton It’s a great dress!! Very comfortable as well!!! It was a great choice for the tour!! Btw, I watched the tour you did. I think you did better than you are giving yourself credit for!! As a mom, I think my favorite thing is your rocking chair! Because when you talk about rocking all your babies in it, I get that 100%!! You asked about suggestions on filming things. I’d say set the camera up somewhere and just do your normal thing. You will catch something interesting sooner or later. Also, you could set up a night cam, if you think you have any critters visit. But, really, I don’t vlog or anything, I’m probably not the best person to be giving advice on it. But how about a Harvest haul from your garden?

A lot of these tiny homes/living-in-car videos, everyone seems to be living in a nice, remote forest with no one else around for miles and it's always 65 degrees. More power to em, 100%. But this ain't reality where I live lol.

These yurts have reflective insulation in the walls and ceiling, not as good as regular insulation but better than nothing.
@MrsRubens2 ай бұрын
This looks to be in the Pacific Northwest, which doesn’t have cold winters. These yurts typically have insulation of some sort. There are several companies in Washington, Oregon and California that make them, and people stay in yurts even in parts of Canada over winter. He did say he insulated the floor after they set the yurt up.
@Jo-Leaton2 ай бұрын
@@mattr.1887 Haha I wish it was always 65 degrees! It can get down into the single digits at night here during the winter, but our wood stove keeps us toasty warm. In fact, last winter our whole valley lost power for several days, and we had the warmest house in the neighborhood! 😉 It can get toasty during the hottest days of summer - we are definitely glad for the shade in our spot!

It doesn’t take much investment to have a 1500 watt solar portable power supply and a 12v fridge, and a few solar light fixtures. I’ve been living off my Eco Flo and Jackery for years. No need to be so austere. Props on the interior layout. Good use of space. Sorry but…I’d need a mini-split in summer.

I've always wondered about sustainable lifestyles. It would seem people into that would realize cutting down trees is bad for the earth. Not to mention wood burning stoves add to the hazards in our atmosphere. And if I understood correctly, they put human waste in their compost. Hope they all stay healthy.

Goodness me! If not having a cold drink is considered miserable, what if you really face misery? And I'm sure with the current situation in the world, you will. As I live off grid myself without even solar panels, just a tiny portable one to charge a small power bank to charge this old mobile phone with a limited access to internet...I can tell you, the city life you live is what real misery is for me...I grow my own food, breath fresh air here in the mountains, no light or sound pollution, fresh organic foods grown, raised by me...warmth from my trusty wood stove, peace and love.. and yes, I don't drink cold drinks, just fresh clean water..
