I don't really understand how you know which dollar signs to use - for instance at 07:45, why did it work for B$2 and $B$2?

How can you have a fixed cell reference between tabs? I.e I have two tabs; tab 1 is a static format for reporting, tab 2 is the daily data for the report on tab 1. I want cell B2 on tab 1 to always reference and display the data from cell C2 on tab 2. Each day a new line will be inserted pushing the previous line down. I have tried ='tab 2'!$C$2 but no joy. The issue is the formula in B2 on tab 1 changes to reference cell C4 on tab 2. Is there are way to do this?

I know about cell references, but when I'm copping across the and using a table[column 1] and copy across it goes to table[column 2] I've tried to use F4 but still does it can you please tell me how to lock these

there should be a yellow "fn" key. use that like shift, and it will work
