Seinfeld is a tough show to watch clips without having seen at least the rest of the episode, and you really need the context of watching the series to get some of the humor. It's why a lot of people don't find it funny because it's not the kind of show you can just sit down and watch a random episode.

Seinfeld is fantastic but I’ve watched it enough to where the laugh track really ruins the whole thing.
@No_lie_eli Жыл бұрын
@@plnkfloydian7814most of the show was in front of a live audience. The scenes they couldn’t film in front of an audience they used a laugh track. So if it looks like it’s on a set, it’s in front of a live audience and the laughs are genuine.
@blanketstarry7725 Жыл бұрын
@@No_lie_eli Even in front of the live audience, they utilized a laugh track to help out...but that was for good reason. If you watch any of the bloopers from Seinfeld, you can see that they did the scenes over and over and over because they just cracked up so many times. The audience will laugh much more enthusiastically after the first viewing of a bit than after the 20th time. They just wanted to keep the spontaneity of hearing the jokes for the first time.

The not having the car you reserved is way too common. I actually have a little trick that works a lot of the time. 2 places near me usually have 0 compact cars on the lot, so you reserve online the night before and when you get there they never have compacts available because the nearest one with them takes a about an hour to get a car from, and they don't want to rush in the morning to bring what you want from another location so they upgrade you for the same price to the midsized car I actually wanted.

The sweater being thrown in George's face is funny because earlier in that episode he got a fantastic deal on a Cashmere sweater with one caveat...it had a small red dot on it. Elaine eventually noticed, and IIRC gave it back, and George gave it to the cleaning lady as a Christmas present with her gushing over how she's never had anything nice like that, so she must have noticed the dot, lol.

No one ever explains the clip for number 24 properly and context is everything. This is the Kenny Rogers Chicken episode where the restaurant opened up across the street from their apartment. The sign from the restaurant was shining directly into Kramer's apartment so he was threatening to get them shut down. Since Jerry loved the food in the restaurant he agreed to switch apartments with Kramer. This led to Jerry and Kramer basically switching personalities where Jerry took on Kramer's manic tendencies and Kramer became the voice of reason in the friend group.
@pyritepirate4835 Жыл бұрын

My mother and her bestie from their workplace traveled to LV for several days there (fifty yrs back). They both had reserved a moderate room @ fancy establishment on the strip, but when they arrived was told the place had no vacancy. Mom and friend explained and proved they had a confirmation number, but an apparent clerical error bounced them. The mgr was summoned and filled-in on the matter. Due to the mistake and not wanting to put the two out in an attempt to find another accommodation elsewhere explained, "We do have one room available; it's not in the same class but does have a two-bed arrangement and will let have for the same cost." Mom and friend sez, "Anything is acceptable now." He led the two to the elevator and accompanied them to the top floor to show them the penthouse suite replete w/ windows on all sides for the breathtaking view, a center fireplace w/ sofas about it, a personal vending machine, etc. They responded, "Yeah, well...okay, sure, we'll take it."

I know I’m very late here but I worked in management for a car rental company and they legitimately will not let management put a “sold out” option on cars they expect us to “find” cars for reservations. They make deals with body repair shops that say any of their customers are entitled to a rental as soon as they bring their car in to be fixed. They will just spring one on you and if I’ve got 7 cars in my lot for 7 reservations I am not allowed to say no to the new body shop customer. Now I have to find an 8th car either at another car rental location or tell someone no. Brutal and stupid. But that might answer that question

Companies realized they could make millions by "reallocating" (yes that's a term) reservations from one person to another if the second person is willing to pay more or is some kind of club member. When I was in the hotel business they would often close a block of discounted reservations for say $80 and sell them to last minute buyers for $130. The worst that could happen was they ask a neighboring cheaper hotel to take the discounted res people for $80 and they'd be thrilled to get the business as their hotel was worth $65 a night.
