I’m a proud Hawkeye. I wanted my team to win of course, but I am so proud of them for just getting there. We didn’t have the depth and the defense but it was great just to see them push themselves. Caitlin Clark is exceptional in every sense of the word but, the women in both teams showed up and showed out. It was a victory for women’s basketball, period. Congratulations are in order for South Carolina! They had a hell of a season.

SC Too big, Too many, Too good. SC 37 -0 off the bench and a huge advantage in rebounds. I like Iowa but they had little chance against a stacked and, deep and talented team. Fair and deserved result.
@MoeDavinci7 ай бұрын
USC has depth off the bench as well. They were rotating like 10 different players and every was fresh and had energy. Iowa began getting gassed later in the second half. They only had like 6-7 players play considerable minutes. So if you add on the height and banging on the inside with USC over time, it’ll catch up.

Clark was missing a lot of easy shots in the 4th... I think she was overwhelmed by the defense. Not to drag her teammates but she kept passing the ball in the 4th when in reality she should've been more selfish. She was trying to force passes which led to turnovers. Everyone knew this game was gonna come down to how Clark plays and her making shots bc I think we all know for the past 4-5 years South Carolina has been the best TEAM. Last year LSU won because they were the better TEAM and Reese was facilitating the ball to her teammates through concepts. Iowa this year played more team ball as Clarks teammates stepped up. Esp their center. Iowa tried to do that in the 2nd half but the adjustments by South Carolina made it hard. Esp with how athletic and agile SC was compared to Iowas players. Iowa was in the game because of the paint... when SC shut that down it made it rough for Iowa. Good game though. I think Iowa's recruiting hurt Clark in college. They did not help her imo. She plays the full game every game while also doing most of the work. Iowa needed to get like another star player or a bench that can control a game which can allow Clark to rest. Curry takes breaks. He did in college too. She never sat on the bench, Thats putting her at a disadvantage esp as a sharpshooter. She was TIRED and overwhelmed. Iowa failed her imo.
@meowski6177 ай бұрын
I don’t think there are enough college players period that can handle her passes to be honest. Hopefully the WNBA will showcase her passing abilities and we can see her assist numbers go up.
