I loved the story of the Wrexham community fighting to keep their team alive. Just glad Canadian Ryan and U.S. Rob have done well by the team and the community instead of it being something goofy.

I appreciate that Rob & Ryan take the fans very seriously and know that, ultimately, they have to protect the fans' investment in Wrexham at the same level they protect their own financial investment in the team. In the "Welcome to Wrexham" series, they even specifically say that it's fine for the actors to look a little ridiculous, but that the community and the fans are NOT to be ridiculed.

About 11000 capacity at the moment. Will increase when the Kop is rebuilt. As a Notts County fan of 50+ years I have never watched a season like this one. Both sets of fans fully respect the levels we have reached this season, apart from a few stubborn oafs. I think they could easily reach and compete at Championship level. Stockport have a shot at back to back promotions.

And they don't even really get the money situation correct either. Wrexham did NOT 'lose' $3,700,000 in 2021-2022. On paper they did, but that does not include any income from the Documentary at all. And most of that 'loss' was for grounds improvement and maintenance. So an investment in the future, not a loss on operations. Wait until the results from 2022-2023 come in, and even more importantly the results from 2023-2024, when the Kop is rebuilt.

Well they have basically bought the league title . They lost over 2 million in revenue last season and this season . No one else in non league can pay £4.5k a week on players they basically have taken league one and two players . That’s why from next season price caps come into play next season so teams can’t do the same and buy the league and the league is fairer to all

It's important to note everyone is overlooking one glaring fact, Wrexham dropped out of the league system due to extremely poor management, they had enjoyed many years in the upper leagues even reaching tier2 and being a very good team in the past, but most people seem to be conversing like Wrexham is some small provincial town in the dark depths of Wales, this isn't a story of underdogs as such, this is a story of overcoming adversity and returning to where they belong, and yes this time maybe even looking at improving on past glories.

Foster was at Wrexham in 2005 on loan from Stoke city, I think it was league 2 level, the level they were just promoted to, Sir Alex's son Darren was also there, while watching his son he spotted Foster and signed him for man united the following transfer window. He signed for United to be the 3rd choice keeper, and played mainly reserve football, for a couple of years, was given a chance to be number 1, wasn't good enough unfortunately but played at the top level of English football for about 12 more years. He retired this past off-season, but was brought out of retirement about 2 weeks ago to play for Wrexham as the 2 or 3 main Gk's were injured.

I live in Michigan. I don't have a Football team to follow. I can't root for an Ohio Team like Columbus or Cincinnati, and don't even mention rooting for a Chicago team. Over the years I would passively watch Man Utd, Real Madrid, and AC Milan. I played soccer in my Youth, and always loved the sport. I watched the docuseries on Hulu and then I watched any Wrexham televised games that I could on Hulu/ ESPN+. Its fun to root for a team that you know the players and the journey is what is amazing to watch. Until Detroit gets an MLS Team.

I think Ben Foster said he gained 200k followers over the first week after he joined the club and took very little for his salary due to thinking this would be the case. There will be some players taking less to go there because they’re then getting endorsements they never would’ve had before. Some want the fame too. Reynolds, McElhenney, the CEO, and Shaun Harvey are really smart people and I’m sure they’re setting the foundation for all the financial issues being brought up.

As an analogy, though flawed, is Green Bay Packers of the NFL. Small town but their fan base reaches state-wide, BUT it is also a brand which stretches across their state lines into the rest of the U.S. and even internationally. Green Bay has a head start as they date back to the beginning of the NFL and they’ve had many championships, so that’s their “hook” along with great players that continually are a part of their franchise. Ollie Palmer launched a clothing line. If they can continue to maintain that global hype than I think more players would opt for Wrexham over a slightly better club for their own brands, and they can always nab older more experienced players at the end of their careers, someone like Aaron Ramsey should be a player who they keep tabs on when he's done at the top level he could be a huge asset against league 2 and league 1 opposition.

Exactly Chris. NFL and NHL worth watching. I don't watch MLB anymore because it is broken --no cap. My team, Pittsburgh, will never win it all again unless they institute a cap. I believe that I read that the revenue from the Yankees TV contract alone is more than 3x that total revenue Pittsburgh has from all sources. What a joke--and Yankee fans actually think they are winning something on an even scale when they do well. All of those titles should have asterisks and at the bottom of the page beside the asterisk it should read something like: Yankees had more money by far to buy their championships each year than any other team." They have two NFL teams in NYC and Pittsburgh still has more SB titles than the two NYC teams combined. Now THOSE are real titles.

Both systems work well and have their own benefits. The premier league isn’t the competition those large teams are after, they are competing every season to try and qualify for and win the Champions League. Not having the salary cap allows players at the top to earn higher salaries and creates super teams so the viewer can see the pinnacle of what the sport has to offer. The NFL does a great job because of the salary cap and it creates extremely competitive games amongst all teams, but it doesn’t punish teams for losing by kicking them out of the league, so it allows for innovation and experimentation to try and find the latest and greatest strategies for success in the league. The worst option is the way the MLB does it where they have no salary cap, so you end up with and handful of super teams, but then no relegation of the worst teams who refuse to spend any money (Oakland), so they never have to bother to try and improve.

Here's a conundrum for you. Many many people can't stand soccer. Not because of the sport itself but the type of people involved - in the higher divisions. Prima donnas getting too much money, owners that use the club as a place to show off once the super yacht has lost it's appeal. Lets not even get in to the dramatics of falling down when your ear has been flicked and taking your shirt off on the pitch if you happen to do what you're overpaid to do - score a goal. Will Wrexham lose it's appeal once it goes up the leagues and attracts tossers? Just because a player has more skills doesn't mean they will be good for the team. Many many new fans from around the world (me included) did not like European football, but we liked the old fashioned, down to earth football Wrexham/Notts and the rest in this division showed us. Don't lose that Wrexham, having 6 Ryan Reynolds won't help becoming just like the rest. (well maybe a bit)

Reynolds is rich beyond the dreams of avarice.... And he still hasn't got near the money needed to compete on the level of EPL clubs. Chelsea dropped what? £325 million just in the last transfer window? Never mind current player, managerial, and staff wages, taxes, stadium upkeep, and a thousand other crazy expenses. His best bet is to keep plugging away in the hope that the club's value will grow, along with sponsorship, and potentially other well heeled investors. If he and Rob get them to the point of being a reasonably competitive championship club, it will be a huge coup - a truly impressive feat of which they and the people of Wrexham can be justifiably proud.

Wrexham is all the news here in the states, people are wanting to purchase their merchandise but they can't make it fast enough, when Wrexham and manchester united play in san diego in july there will be alot of fans from the states there rooting for Wrexham, Ryan just buying a house in Wrexam he's not going anywhere.

Foster gives them good exposure, but he doesn't get 22M views on anything he does. :P He has 1.4M subscribers on KZbin, and his latest Instagram post got like 40k likes in the first 12 hours. Decent numbers still, but let's be real here. =)

I disagree with the opinion on the Love Island guy. They want footballers who happen to have a social media presence, not social media influencers who can have a kick about at an okay standard. Paul Mullin, their star striker, is easily League One standard. This Love Island guy is nowhere near the same level. If the Love Island guy elevated the standard like Ben Foster has, then great. If not, it won't happen.

In a later stage, also bigger clubs will come to take your best players. And most of the times you can't buy back the same quality. This even goes for the biggest clubs. It does look nicer to work your way up, as a club and city, than to buy the license of a league team. I don't support any other club anymore, than our local club. I used to like early 90s Chelsea, Leeds, Newcastle. Few foreigners, but excellent ones like Zola or Asprillia. But I am afraid from now more and more clubs will lose their culture, to follow the City' s of today. City was kind of a cult club, now it's just a copy of the Real's and PSG's. This will bring down the Premier League, it's take huge risks or stay behind. Look at Italy.

Yea I get what you mean but I think it goes without saying for any club that competes globally they are going to attract support from around the world, Man United is no different, they were huge in Asia especially when they had Park Ji Sung and played their preseasons in Asia. I think strong cultures are reserved for smaller clubs these days, Barcelona has the Cules but they alone wouldn't fill a 99K seater Camp Nou. Borussia Dortmund keep their Ultras in the Yellow wall section of the stadium and the rest are fans that have traveled far and wide.

My husband lost his mind on the other day when they won and got promoted. We’re way over here in California, and he’s become an ardent fan of Wrexham. So I’m thinking they have fans all over the place now. Oh, just fyi, Ryan is an Irish name, not Welsh. It’s also my son’s name. Just throwing that in for no reason.
