Midland is a relatively new band but you'd think from their style they were an old country band. Very classic country sound to them.

I see somebody already recommended the song "Burn Out" by Midland, a year ago. I searched your video files and I don't see it listed. I encourage you to give it a listen. The song, itself, is great, but the most amazing thing about the video is that the entire thing was shot in one take - no cuts, no scene changes. It's pretty impressive to see how the producers coordinated everything. Here's a KZbin link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3Omo558d52hrMU

My best friend as a child moved to North Carolina from NY at 20 years old after his dad retired. He lost his NY accent within a couple of years while his parents maintained their NY accent to this day. If you hear my friend speak, he sounds like a southerner from NC. My friend says he lost his so quickly because he worked with the native people of North Carolina daily, while his parents did not have to work with anyone. The same thing happened to my brother when he moved to Florida from NY 20 years ago. Now you can only hear the NY accent when he gets angry, otherwise he speaks with weird combo accent.

I agree, “it washes over you” but letting most of these lyrics slip right on by just shows the different perspective of southern American life compared to European ideologies that stem from your sphere on influence. Don’t mistake my criticism for outright disrespect, I just hope you gentlemen go into these country songs more open minded. This is a song about the results of an alcoholic who can’t help but ask for another shot even though it’s a shit idea, not someone who lives in Alabama and shoots guns all day. Respect the reaction, respect the honest thoughts, and highly respect trying to put yourselves in that character’s shoes. Keep up the content and I’ll be sure to tune in for another midland reaction. Cheers blokes.
