I heard a story, not sure if it’s true, it sounds true though. A movie producer went to Segal’s house and Steven answered the door and you could tell he had been crying and the guy says what’s wrong? And Steven says “I just read the greatest script I have ever read in my life”. And the guy say “wow really? Who wrote it?” And Steven says “I did”

I have family who work for the Jefferson Parish Police, which is where Steven Segal "worked". You can see them in the background in some scenes of the show. It's all for show. He's not really a cop on the streets. We'd all joke about it when I see them. But for the show they have to pretend like he's the expert.

My friend say "Are you out of your fxcking mind , touch my rifle again and I'm going smack the sh!t out of you". Stephen looked like he was going to cry and just left. I'm not sure how tough Steven Segal truly was at the time , but I do know my friend was a straight up worn torn beast and Segal wanted non of him , it was insane. Later I was watching a comedian from Saturday Night live talk about how crazy he is . I thought finally the truth comes out then it was like someone opened the flood gates everyone started saying it.

Segal is very strange (or at least was) in many other ways as well. He did a movie in the late 80's to early 90's in my hometown, a little hick town in the Appalachian part of Ky. They shot some scenes on the property of some of our family friends. He went through all these "cleansing rituals" before he'd enter any space, including wide open areas of nature, as well as before and after he'd interact with everyday people. He was described by my Mom's friends and others we knew as just an extremely strange human being. Patrick Swayze was as well. He also shot a movie in my hometown in the mid-80's. He spoke at our high school because they were shooting some scenes in our gym. Our school only had 5-600 kids, max. This was back when times were simple. The people in my hometown were salt of the earth kind of people. Having someone like him come to our school was the most exciting thing that would ever happen to most of us. He demanded that no one come within so many feet of him. No handshakes, no autographs, nothing. Times were much different then. The crowd was extremely small and we were harmless, very laid back kids. This was long before the threat of these deadly mass violence incidents in schools. It wasn't like it was a 🎒 of a few thousand kids in somewhere like NYC, LA or Chicago. There's absolutely no reason he couldn't have spent another hour or two to at least give a few autographs. That would have meant everything to us. We were poor, not nasty or violent. I loved him from "Dirty Dancing" but I never watched another movie he ever made from that point forward, including the one he was shooting in my town because his arrogance just left a really bad taste in my mouth. I don't reward that behavior with my time or money. With Segal, even though he was arrogant, strange, and very awkward, at least he did make a half-hearted effort to speak one-on-one with a handful of the locals. They both did paid, private speaking engagements/dinners with the wealthier and/or politically connected members of the community. The kids of those folks got handshakes, autographs and a much more meaningful interaction with these movie stars As always, money talks.

@@emmef7970 You have to understand that some of them are not "people persons" and quickly get tired of people coming up to them in public places. @ryanjacobson25082 жыл бұрын
You have to respect people's privacy and mental health needs. I just don't think Patrick Swayze wanted or needed a lot of social interactions with complete strangers. Remember that no matter how well meaning you are, it doesn't mean you are entitled to interact with someone who wishes to not have that interaction.

I met him a few months before they started filming that movie in Alaska. He had flown up on a site survey for filming locations for the movie. My friend and myself were hanging out in the Refinery Lounge in North Pole, Alaska on a slow Thursday evening. There was only about 8 people in the bar that night. It was winter, and it was about -35 out. The door opened and in walks Seagal. We all pretty much shit ourselves. He wanted to check out the bar on the inside because they were looking for an interesting location to film the scenes in the movie where the oil workers pick on the old Eskimo guy. Ultimately...they ended up picking a bar down near Valdez instead. He was a cool dude....sat in there for about an hour shooting the shit with all of us.
