At the time of this performance, she had two songs already hit the various Billboard charts in 1984/1985. The last song on her debut album, "Hold Me," a duet with Teddy Pendergrass only reached #48 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. The second single, "You Give Good Love" was her first top ten, peaking at #3 ... Interesting fact about this song, "Saving All My Love For You" was the first of SEVEN consecutive number one songs she would have (and broke the record The Beatles had with six & her record still stands). She would follow this with "How Will I Know." "The Greatest Love Of All," "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)," "Didn't We Almost Have It All," "So Emotional" & the song the broke the record, "Where Do Broken Hearts Go."

A lot of the comments are saying Bobby Brown was the one that introduced Whitney to drugs when that’s actually not true. Regardless of this, it’s such a tragedy all the demons Whitney had to face throughout her life. A true gem and one of the best to ever do it.

Whitney was just 22 years old doing this amazing performance. This was before she met Bobby, but unfortunately mental health problems created from early childhood on had an impact on her for many years before this. People often forget that artists like Whitney are human and don't have the perfect happy lives they seem to have. Whitney put up a lifelong unfair fight against her demons and people who treated her badly from childhood on. Her Life store once again shows how important it is to love, guide and treat people well from birth. Just like Whitney, many others have struggled with addiction, depression, insecurity and died an early death because they were bullied, abused and betrayed. Whitney showed in several interviews that her life was no walk in the park many times and that the media picking on her all the time was hard on her.
