As a retired cop for over three decades it makes me sad what is happening in America with police. A cop has sometimes less than a second to react to a violent criminal, some armed with guns or knives. Armchair cops have hours and days to react. I have to say the same thing I’ve had plenty of interactions with police when I was younger I didn’t like it pissed me off but I didn’t do anything but respect them and there authorities know even at 16 18 22 that if I had been messing up they wouldn’t be there, I always gave respect to officers and you know what I should be a felon or a horrible background but I really believe because I respected police officers and there authority I was treated with respect back...and no I am not white I am mixed... my experience comply and respect and you will be treated with respect back...

I have worked for the FD in a major metropolitan area for over 30 years and I’m always impressed with my brothers and sisters in blue who live the life of service and lead by example. Witnessing their interactions with the kindness and caring for people who often don’t deserve it always impresses me. I hate seeing the way our Officers are viewed with disdain today. This guy has helped me with some perspective.. i watched the 13 year old boy who was killed and at first glance i believe it was a bad shot but after a few views i concluded that in real time there is no option to still shot that would afford you the chance to pause real life and clearly see the kid that just had the gun threw it in the same quick movement that he used to throw his hands up ..it's tragic forshore but If I put myself in that alley I may have taken that same shot.
