After naval boot camp in San Diego, I spent a couple of months as Assistant Company Commander then ordered to Naval OCS in Newport RI. Navy boot camp was harder than OCS, if you can believe it. I got my commission after 8 months in the Navy. Circa 1956.

Why can’t regular Navy bootcamp have physical fitness standards like this? Every branch should be learning martial arts & do the same physical fitness as the Marines or Army
