Officers charged in Louisiana shooting death of autistic boy

Two officers from Marksville, Louisiana, have been charged with the murder of a six-year-old autistic boy, whose funeral will occur Monday afternoon. CBS News correspondent David Begnaud has the story.

Not defending the officers involved but this is how shooting works. It is extremely difficult to hit targets whilst under stress, when you are put in a shooting situation your instincts take over to defend yourself. When you train, you train those instincts to give you a higher likelihood of hitting your target in high stress scenarios. If the front sight of the gun is off the target by a millimeter that can translate to the bullet being feet off target depending on how far you are away from what you are trying to hit, this is multiplied by the fact that every time you fire a gun it throws off that front sight by quite a lot. A 30-40% hit rate is seen as average statistically.

Well there was a police shooting in California that was 258 rounds I think. They hit the car 18 times that the suspects were in. One got hit twice the other one got hit five times. They were unarmed. One group of cops on one side of the car discharged the gun for some reason. Rounds started the hitting the area of the cops on the other side of the car. They thought they're being shot at by the suspects and started returning fire. Now the original group was getting rounds landing around them so they return more fire. And they want to disarm me because they were trained how to use a gun.

Look I'm black and I believe the ppl police are seriously outta and many have been for years when it comes to my own kind...look at this case this should open many eyes to the problems we speak of we should band together if all live truly mattered to you. Had we done this years/decades ago this father and son could be alive now. Every life innocently taken is a life we as people should take personally

Not all cops are like this. Why are people so quick to lay the misdeeds of a few onto the entirety of the group? It makes no logical sense. For every one of these shooting videos, there are a dozen videos of officers being kind, respectful human beings, just like any other. You have to learn to not let tiny minorities affect your view of the majority. That is one of the keys to solving racism and judgement in this world.
