Can you do this with emerald cuts? Square stones?
@c.s79784 жыл бұрын
Hey thank's for sharing, very easy technique, although I kinda stuffed up and crossed the wires over which made an interesting channel setting. I work with stainless steel wire so it's a bit harder to manipulate, the piece I just tried has turned into a single stone pendant with an Obsidian focal.. so I'll make a tennis bracelet to go with it using the BowTie style. I can see this becoming my new favorite claw setting. :)

Sir you are amazing God Bless you. God gifted you greatly and that you share those gifts with the rest of us I really thank you for that. I have always wanted to work with argentium I know it stands up to tarnish a lot better then regular SS. What do you think of it compared to regular silver? I have always wanted to make a cuff with that stuff. I have an idea to make one with Sleeping Beauty Turquoise a 5 stone piece graduating down both sides and maybe some scroll work design going down the sides. I want to make one for my man it would look so beautiful on him with his skin tone and the robins egg blue of the turquoise against his skin just magnificent. I've never done anything like that before though mostly I just do beaded pieces, I have tried wire work a few times in the past I think I'll take that up again you've inspired me you really do beautiful work. :) Peace.

Is it possible to make this short video again, because I can't exactly see where you move the pliers and the wire for each step. It is edited too much to learn from. I really would like to learn this procedure, and also I am left handed and it's doubly hard. Thank you so in advance.

I am so impressed! I’ve only been wrapping for 6 months or so and have been doing tutorials for specific pieces of jewelry, but I’m realizing that I need to learn more of the nuts and bolts before I can start to design the kinds of things I want to, so while I imagine designs and keep a little notebook, I can now add this design as an element to some of my ideas. This is awesome! For someone like me, who’s disabled and lives alone during Covid, depression has been very hard and this new hobby has really helped me to battle it. Thank you for making free tutorials like this. Do you have a page on Facebook? If I use this approach I definitely want to give credit. I make sure to do that with everything I make right now because none of my work is original, yet. 😉

What's the smallest size stone you could do this with? I purchased a bunch of 1.5mm stones without realizing how small they were and I have no idea what to do with them.

I and a few others have set 1.5mm stones with the bowtie setting. It's tiny and really hard to get it lining up, I even had to buy new tiny pliers

This is so great!! Does this technique work with much larger faceted stones? Would I just make the “seats” for the stones larger in order to fit the larger size of my faceted stones?
@TheArtofWire4 жыл бұрын
Yeah totally, this technique can be scaled up or down, just pick a size of wire that will support the size of stone. You can even add more prongs coming up to hold the stone.
