It's good that Retrobit decided to include an update function. Due to this I was able to update the firmware of Mega Drive receiver as originally there was a horrible input lag in "Virtua Racing". Now it's playing as it should.

i've been so confused with these controllers because initially i thought that they were compatible with their original console, then they showed pictures of the boxes and there is no mention of that, it does say "Steam, PC/Mac, PS3, Android & Switch" but nowhere does it say anything about being compatible with the original hardware of the Saturn or Genesis. Thank Jebus that's not the case. Appreciate this video.

I love that Blue I bought 6 of the six button wired controllers in that clear Blue 4 for the real Sega Genesis and 2 for the Sega Genesis Mini and I'll probably get a wireless for the Genesis and Saturn. Great video 👍

@@NeonRuffian1111 No back in the 90's the Sega controllers were always black the new Translucent blue controllers are just a cool new style from Retro-bit but it's exactly like the original and if you prefer the original black controller Retro-bit makes them also for both original and Sega Genesis mini just make sure to buy the 9pin controller end for the real Genesis or the usb end for the Genesis mini.

I bought one in black 2.4GHZ in the hopes it would work on my consolized Neo Geo MVS. It does have Sega Genesis ports. I was delighted to find out it connects, stays connected and works perfectly. I hope they make a wireless Neo Geo model someday but this is working like a charm. The included USB dongle lets it do double duty as a PC controller for Retroarch. It works fine on Retroarch on Windows 10. It was not recognized using the USB dongle on my Android TV box running Retroarch. No big deal as there are several Bluetooth controllers that I have working for that. I still need to test it on my MiSTer setup and a few SBCs. If it works on any of them I'll consider it a bonus. It works perfectly for what I bought it for so I'm very happy with it. I assume since it was actually made for the Sega Genesis it works well with it also. I don't own a Sega Genesis to test it on. Maybe this controller is the excuse I need to buy one.

I love the color, but I ended buying the 8bitdo m30 2.4g controller for the genesis mini. Works great so far. compatible with the switch and for windows 10 PC. They said it wouldn't work on PC but it's working great with no problems.

I have only seen these pads used one at a time. I am wondering how well they work with multi taps. Some Genesis games are up to four players. Some Saturn games can support 6 or more players. Both systems require a multi tap to do so. Can you fit 4 in a multi tap? Will the console offer enough power for four even IF four fit?? I would love to see a video testing this.

IDIOT Just got mine and can’t get my retrobit Saturn or Genesis controller to work with the Genesis mini ..usb dongle plugged in and both the controller and dongle blinking ,but nothing works 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’m using the 2.4ghz version and google turns up nothing

Nice video. I have just bought the red one or my Mega Drive Mini. I was going to go for the 8bitdo one but not sure if the bluetooth works with the mini (I think there has been a update to the usb adpater 2). What I like with this controller is the case for both controller and dongles. It is also very much like a ,ega drive rather than the 8bitdo one looking like saturn. 2.4ghz is also much simpler than dealing with bluetooth. I already have the wired retrobit and have been very happy with that one.

Hey MLP! What are the advantages (other than included dongles) to these over the Bluetooth line? Maybe latency? Like do YOU notice any between these and the Bluetooths? Because I wanted to get a couple Genesis and Saturn wireless sets for my old and new hardware and want the best possible kits, and wouldn't need the Bluetooth USB dongles for anything except my modded PSC (which you convinced me to get :) ).

No. 8bitdo is a better controller, BUT the 2 receivers included may be a better option if tou play on both real hardware and emulation

I find them to be very fair prices for how perfect they are. If they dropped the price by $10 they’d be solid I’ll give you that , and also the Nintendo switch has better options then PS4 for good fight pads

Yes! I got the Saturn 2.4ghz version. It comes with a Saturn dongle AND a USB dongle that works on the Megadrive/Genesis Mini and your PC, switch, PS4 etc. Tried on MD/Genesis and Saturn and PC. Works incredibly well. Highly recommended!

I have an issue with pausing the game and un pausing when you return to the game the buttons don't work but start. I have to unplug and replug in the dongle to get it to work again. also I notice a hair of lag especially when I'm playing the mega man 2 game where you need to time your jumps perfectly in some situations and you end up jumping the 2 micro seconds late. when I play with the wired version it's perfect. those are my only 2 personal problems with these controllers. I have 2 black and clear black/green

ok so when it's blue it works only as 3 buttons but red it works as 6 buttons because my controller works when it's blue and the USB cord that you call a charging cord it has to be plugged in to what you call a dongle for the Sega Genesis in order for it to work at least mine.

This can be used on both the minis or on the original Genesis or Megadrive or clone consoles that use the original port. The difference between this and the Big6 is the Big6 is reimagined original big 3 button controller this the 6 buttons on it, not what we originally had but it does feel great, cant go wrong with either this controller from the video or the Big6, I personally use the Big6 more so though

weird questions does the dongle work with the retron 77 ? I can't see why it wouldn't but sometimes there are issues. If I use the dongle and plug it into the super retro trio (hdmi version) with the saturn controller how will it map the buttons ? If L and R map properly on the snes and i can have a regular 6 button controller that would be incredible.

I have had to return this after only a month for a replacement. It started to disconnect from the receiver repeatedly. Pressing start would reconnect but then disconnect again a few seconds later. I don't know if it ia charging issue or a receiver issue. I did update the firmware but made no difference.

I was playing pitfall Myan adventure on model 1 sega and my 2.4gh is giving me trouble when using multiple buttons at once like using b and c for a jump whip and it's short jumping when trying to play the game idk if my unit is defective or not but intrested to hear from others. it worked great on adventures of batman and Robin and sor2

is the 8 button controller a darker blue than the 6 button wired controller? Also can you see the green circuit board thru it like the 6 button wired controller? The only downside of the 6 button wired controller is the blue looked more greenish and not true blue. can someone confirm if this controller hides the green circuit board in that it is a darker blue?

I bought two. Build quality is not great, one broke after a few weeks. The lag is unacceptable, enough to throw off my game. Battery life is just a few hours and the standby time is nearly nothing. Connectivity is very spotty. Even after a firmware update the whole thing is still substandard. The best thing about this controller is the box and the aesthetics. Not recommended.

The original design accidently inputs up and down on the d pad when you hold down left and right, you can also press up and down with the left and right side of the d pad, what a horrible idea to replicate
