i honestly dislike her work on Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring a lot, but I have no doubt she's talented and maybe just received bad direction on those games. Her tracks on Sekiro are great and I'm sure this show will have good music too

@hikarihakai1285 youre probably right, and I'm really not equipped to judge her stuff on a technical basis, but my primary issue is that FromSoft's fantasy game soundtracks have gotten so samey with almost every track being this blown-out wall of orchestration and vocals that often lacks any distinctive melody to make it memorable. This is disappointing in contrast to how insanely weird and experimental their tracks for things like King's Field and Evergrace were back in the day. I think its sad that they defined their own extremely popular style of gameplay and visuals with the Souls games, but failed to keep doing so with music when I know some of their other composers more than have it in them to.

@@demilembias2527 that the thing though they are very memorable for most people so it really just a preference thing that why many of the ost even became meme in the first place like Vordt second phase theme though that one in specific is by Motoi even as someone that is more into Armored Core music i do think both DS3 and Elden Ring have extremely memorable ost and music specially with many of the main boss and ofc the title screen

@@demilembias2527 I find it almost unimaginable to dislike Ancestor Spirit theme a lot, Leyndell theme? Ambience of Raya Lucaria? Tbh some of Yuka's work on ER sounds most different to main tracks of OST. Also now that star of DLC soundtracks is Shoi Miyazawa, it's clearly From direction to do these massive epic orchestral/choir tracks. Anyway I love them all - epic or not epic.

i really hope that all newcomers give this anime a shot (or even read the manga!) it's genuinely one of the most beautiful stories i have ever read, with immaculate art and diversity/representation. i wanna share one of shirahama's words about the series because it feels really fitting now that it's reaching a wider audience: "This is something that readers of Witch Hat Atelier will already know or have started to notice, but the idea of the manga is that magic is not something you're born with. It's not in your blood or genes, nor if you were born into a family of magicians that makes you a magician. That's not how it works. [Magic] is something that anyone can learn to do with pen and ink, and it's an ability that anyone can learn to harness and to hone. I want readers to think, "Well, if this is something that I also have an ability to do, what will I do with this power that I have in my hands?" I know the story is set in a fantasy world, but the characters' world is real to them. When the characters have a real pen and ink in front of them, how will they use this power? I want audiences to think [about] that as they read my story."

They have different directors and a more competent team. The biggest reason for Zom100's failure was that it was mostly a team of freelancers. With a more competent team (and this series started with some big names) I've got some confidence. Plus I'm sure the corporate staff of Bug Films learned something from Zom100, they're human enough to learn from their mistakes.

Iirc the anime for Witch Hat Atelier was announced more than 2 years ago (I've been a fan of this manga series for a while and follow announcement). If we assume they pitched the studio before the announcement then yes they should have been working on the script, key frames, and the general direction of this series since back then.
