Hows the drop safety on this? IS the sear still only held up with that spring or did they fix anything to prevent the spring from moving and allowing the striker to go forward?

The striker safety block is what prevents the striker from going forward which is still present and not altered by the Timney trigger. The main difference is a half cocked striker (oem) vs a fully cocked striker (Timney) Oem trigger pulls the half cock striker until it disengages. Timney trigger only releases the full cocked striker via “sear”

My Alpha GLOCK 5 Timney Trigger has never worked. It just clicks and that's it. I did not know about this upgrade kit so I contacted Timney Triggers in the hopes that they can assist. But I'm not going to pay an additional $80 for it. I'll mark it down as a loss and will look at the new GLOCK Performance Trigger. SinceTimney has a "Life Time Warranty" I suppose I'll look into that.

Are there any differences between the Glock striker and the Timney striker?

In my hurry to install this kit, i did not weigh the firing pins. My assumption would be that the timney pin is lighter in weight to allow a faster strike on primer. If i get a chance to disassemble and weigh the pins i will let you know.

@@MatSuPewPew907 I've never had light strikes, nor heard anyone else having them with the Timney. I must have been under a rock. Timney isn't selling these items on their site, at the moment. Hmm...

@@5jjt There are tons of posts on different forums about the light primer strikers. Glad it worked out for you. I am on my fourth trigger trying to resolve them.

$80 is the regular price now. The "upgrade" is actually just a fix for light primer strikes in disguise.

How so? What's causing light strikes? The timney connector looks like a Lone Wolf connector.

@@5jjt the stock striker can sometimes drag on the new timney sear housing block.

@@BrandensOutdoorChannel Other times the trigger bar cam does not raise the safety plunger high enough. This results in the striker hitting the safety plunger and causes the light primer strike.

6lbs striker spring and 18lbs guide rod was a fix for me

The 6# striker spring did not work for me. I am still trying to resolve the issue. Purchased a modified safety plunger to see if that helps.

That sucks, I can't remember what the date was that I got the email from Timney offering the upgrade. I'm thinking about trying out Glock's new trigger to compare. A lot of people are saying it's comparable to other aftermarket triggers.

Hey there brother, I know you said you have sunk $200+ into your trigger system so far. I have the Alpha Comp trigger from Timney in mine and I love the pull weight and the break is amazing, but like you I thought the reset SUCKED!!!! 100%. I know you might cringe at throwing another $100 at it and hope it sticks, but I do have a solution to the reset issue. I bought the "VEX" trigger shoe from Johnny Glock and I freaking LOVE it. The trigger pull might have increased a few ounces, but still way better than stock. It is maintains that amazing break, but it also completely fixes the trigger reset problem. Again, I know another $100 is at stake, but in my opinion it is worth it. It gives as close to a 1911 style as you can get in a striker fired gun. Spend the money and you won't regret it. This is a great option. I love the trigger shoe. One thing that I did before that was modifying the housing pin. I put a little groove in it for the spring to sit in. Resolved the reset issue.
