This was like years ago when I saw a brief interview with Arthur Rowe, brought tears to my eyes & I am over 80. Very emotional. Saw every game of that cup run. Travelled up to Blackpool for the Third round & never certain the game would be on, till late. Hell of a gale on & when Eric the Viking took a goal kick, the ball just arced back to the Spurs goal area. Bit of a struggle at Fratton but Gazza enthused us fans that we would win on the day. He was like the Duke of Wellington that day. Gor blimey Guv, I could go on all day.

Absolutely brilliant. Love listening to the guys of that generation, in particular a player who experienced Hoddle all the way to Klinsmann. Being part of the 87 squad with what was a unique style at time to the individual brilliance of Gazza to the Famous Five. He’s seen a lot. David Howells was an underrated player and deserved an international call up, was a great foil for Gazza, did most of his donkey work so he could shine.

Howells was one of those players that I loved growing up. He played with a care for the shirt, which, even as a youngster, I always appreciated. Him, Mabbutt, Steve Sedgley and others really played like they cared
