That is the most beautiful DIY teardrop I've ever seen. Well built and designed. Love the retro look and color scheme. Those retro fenders finish it off nicely. I highly recommend you lose the air mattress and go with an 8" memory foam. I'm a big guy like you but, with back issues. I sleep as good on the 8" memory foam in my squaredrop trailer as my bed in the house. Congrats again on that beautiful teardrop.

Nicely done. My family grew up with pick up truck campers and motor homes as Dad used it for his business full time / weekend camper when we could get away. Later on, I bicycled and motorcycled cross country many times using tents. The tear drop camper as interested me for many years now, as it fits my budget and camping-like lifestyle. Look forward to seeing more videos.

I've been following your build progress since the beginning! I can't believe the fit and finish you accomplished; outstanding. It's so gratifying to see it finished, so I can only imagine how you must feel. I began my build several weeks ago after wanting to do so for a couple years...still much to be done...but the walls and bulkhead were attached yesterday so now it actually looks like something. @@CampandCamera I'm sure it won't compare to yours...just hoping I can achieve a retro looking, water tight, camper that functions. Appreciate you taking the time to reply, you should consider starting a small business...I don't know what you've got invested in this thing, but comparable teardrops regularly sell for 10k plus! (a fact you're well aware of no doubt...but perhaps a stranger telling you that your product passes muster will light a fire!)

@@CampandCamera love the idea, quick question and I'll leave you alone...I'm most intimidated by the doors....I didn't buy them because they are insanely expensive. Any advice not covered in your videos? I'm mostly concerned about the aluminum trim kinking, and ensuring a solid seal.

Joshua Lincoln You May find this hard to believe, but after I added all the cost of the materials up, I probably didn’t save much over buying them. That being said, I couldn’t buy doors this shape and size, so I had to build them. I’d say, either make your corners curves wide, or even better, make the corners mitered. If I do it again, I may look into doing doors that are a “D” shape. That way, it will be one large easy bend with two mitered corners. If you ever need more advice, shoot me a PM on my Camp & Camera Facebook page. Always glad to help!

You did a fabulous job. (That's coming from a custom woodworker) My dad built our first camper 47 years ago. When he sold it, the guy who bought it would not believe that it wasn't commercially built. I can tell you this- yours looks even better. A lot of nice, well thought out details. I am sure that over time you will come up with things that you wish you would have done differently (or added) but that just tells me that you are a creative guy. Always thinking. You can add them on your next build and use the proceeds from this one to do it. Big thumb's up! 👍🏾
