OFFICIAL TRAILER Unega | Tales Of The Guardians

The Unega Documentary edit has been completed and we created a trailer to share with everyone who has followed us along this journey.
Film Synopsis:
Unega Mountain Dog Rescue, a 501(c)3 nonprofit based in Bellevue, Idaho - works to rehabilitate and rescue Great Pyrenees Mountain Dogs and other livestock guardian dogs in Blaine County. The way the laws are written in Idaho allows for cases of animal abuse to go unpunished and allows for the mistreatment of the dogs, particularly in the sheep ranching industry. Tiffany Larson and her team at Unega Mountain Dog Rescue are working to change the laws to protect the livestock guardian dogs and get their legal classification changed in Idaho while making themselves a resource for ranchers.
This film has been submitted to the Sun Valley Film Festival for 2024 and we are currently waiting to hear if the film will be played or not. We began filming in November of 2022 and finished our final edit in January of 2024.
Director's Statement:
With Unega Tales of the Guardians, my team and I approached our first feature length project with determination and tenacity. We filmed in temperatures as cold as -14F and as high as 100F to bring this film to life and tell the story of Unega and the livestock guardian dogs. We were first introduced to Unega back in 2021 when we were asked to film a short KZbin video for the organization, which has gone on to be viewed over 15,000 times, and since have adopted 3 dogs from Unega. This project is close to our hearts and we are honored to be trusted by Tiffany and the team at Unega to deliver their story and help them change the laws that surround these guardian dogs.

As a professional dog trainer, someone who has tried to help rescue a Great Pyr and also currently has a rescued Pyr in one of my group classes, I really like what I just heard. Where can I see this film?

We are hoping the film will be screened at the Sun Valley Film Festival this year! We should hear from them in the next week or so. After we figure that out, we are not sure yet what the plan is for distribution! If we are selected in the festival we will put out videos with more information!

I want to see this so badly! I lost my baby girl last year at 13. She was the best dog I've ever had. ❤️ my mom was very reluctant when I said I was coming back home (to live) and bringing my dog. After learning her personality and realizing she was well trained (at 8 months old) she absolutely loved her. It's been 11 months since she passed and my mom and I still cry about her. ❤

It's the Hardest Thing In The World. And few words you can say. I Know. My Pal Hal just crossed that Rainbow 🌈 Bridge, after almost The Best 14yrs I could imagine. Fostering a just over 1 yr old male GP that was surrendered to a local HS. They are very different than any of my other fosters but I am in love. It’s taken about 3 months but the bond is there! Hope to see this film-I think….. 🥺

Hi! The film will be screened at the Sun Valley Film Festival between Feb 28 and March 3. Once we have screened the premier there, we will look into distribution for the film to get it out there to as many people as we can!

how can these monsters be so evil.. do yall adopt to texas.. we used to have alaskan white labs,, so we can take care of a winter type dog easily enough

Hi! Tiffany and the team adopt dogs usually close to home in case it doesn't work out. Texas is a state where there are a ton of LGDs and Pyrs that need homes due to the ranch life! If you are looking to connect with a more local rescue, we would be happy to find someone that specializes in these dogs!
