If you'd read the book, you'd know that Eva was originally white with blue eyes and blonde hair. Blatantly changing her design to suit a political agenda is disheartening.

Maybe it was as simple as they felt the animation didn't translate well with her as blonde Or she was harder to animate that way especially since this is a tv series Does her being blonde and having blue eyes matter to the story ? At best she is racially ambiguous and you can't tell her race anymore Changes like this have been made with adaptations for decades sometimes it's simply as simple as they designed her the book way first and didn't think her design was working

WTF have they done to Eva Nine?! Eva's supposed to be a twelve year old girl who's imperfect and struggles, but that's what makes her story so compelling. THIS character is a sixteen year old with impossibly neat hair and a blandly perfect persona. She doesn't even LOOK like Eva from the books. The studio decided to not only change the main character's personality, but also race swap her for the sake of pandering. Skydance Animation, you make me sick.

This was not on my 2024 bingo card. I literally was browsing KZbin, saw the title, and thought, "there's no way". I thought oh the main character is different this must be inspired by wondla" and then the aliens came in and the gasp that escaped my body!!!!! This is flipping The Search for Wondla. The shock is real right now. Although I am disappointed that they changed Eva and Muthr while the aliens are practically EXACT copies. The design is bland in comparison, especially the hair for eva, and the race swap *sigh* honestly tiring to see at this point. Maybe this will be good? I'll keep an eye out but I'm also ready for disappointment to be honest. However, this does make me want to read the books especially since I never got to read books 2 and 3.

Every alien looks like they did in the books but apparently, it was too hard to make 12 year old Eva Nine and MUTHR look like they did in the books. Eva was race swapped and made into a woman that seems to be closer to her 30s than 16…. If anyone watches this without reading the books, just know, it’s not the WondLa book series. It’s a cheap generic pale imitation of a sci-fi with the name of the characters and the title thrown into it. Tony lied. He said it was “faithful to the book series” but it’s like the cheap version of an original brand….

Which is that she’s 12 years old, white with green eyes, and blond with intricate braids that make her look more futuristic. This version just looks like a full grown generic woman that is naturally strong and good at everything….in a world she’s never been in or trained for before….🤦‍♀️

Skydance, they have changed. She hasn’t. They have new dialects of human languages. Not alien, but native. But took very advanced technologies to become who she is not. I know that there is already a script, but in that very scenario, she could’ve grown from a baby to an adult while completely isolated from the real world through cryostasis. Or at least a form of cryostasis that still allows for her to grow, but at slower times than usual. Even through the lack of carbon and radiation and very clean but cold water. A moment in the past that got her to be one of humanity’s last hope for revival. She can revive humanity through ancestry and returning her DNA back to human beings of the past, but that will spark the new species to retaliate and not want a world more darker than what they have already accomplished. Which, ironically meant that they have read about our history and want nothing to do with it. The new species of life were the human’s experiments that I think is estimated to be decades later from now than centuries. Humanity has decided a gruesome war upon themselves back then. Maybe I need the comics to read the real story, but this just opens up the story to what could be humanity’s fear of being replaced as a species, when it is in scientific practice a revival of the human species through newer forms of hominids that also holds our ancestors, DNA. They fear that returning to those dark ages could lead to the disruptions of their peace when humanity could just live out the little life that they do have until they have gone extinct leaving only the new hominid species to thrive. A clashing of wills and fates. A human from the past in a new present when human experiments become sentient and don’t hold exactly the same wills and instinct as both hominids and even animals that they hold both and even more DNA of.

I don't know about you, but I don't think this is going to be great. If anything this is going to be a disastrous disappointment. It doesn't feel like the original books. Movie never stay true to the source material. Are they trying to save money or they're trying to establish some sort of political agenda. To be honest this is definitely going to be a flop. I'm going to give this a five thumbs down 👎👎👎👎👎.
