So I saw them live in concert on December 7th. Let me tell you…hearing them sing live in person is a whole other ballgame. They brought me to tears with their renditions of “Mary did u know”, “Hallelujah”, “The Prayer”, “Evergreen”, and “Thank You”. Their voices surround you and take you through a journey of emotions…and I loved every single moment of it.

How do they continue to re-create old Christmas songs??? It's amazing their arrangements. Matt is good, very good. Avi is special. I almost cried first time listening as well, you are right just insane! Great reaction.

Little Drummer Boy has been my favorite Christmas song for most of my life (I am now 65 years old), and was the first song I ever heard from Pentatonix. I now listen to them A LOT. Hard to chose my favorite, but probably Sound of Silence. If you want something a bit different, try their version of Radioactive, or Shallow. You are obviously impressed by Kevin, and rightly so, but wait til you see him playing the cello and beatboxing at the same time.

Next…Carol of the Bells! Either the original studio recorded version (with Avi) or the new live version with Matt. The live is most impressive because it’s incredibly intricate and none knows how Mitch even has time to breathe in it lol 🙏🏻

I love your reactions, and your honesty about missing Avi. I miss him too. But I love the direction they are going with Matt. Matt is only one octave higher than Avi was, but his tone has a more soulful sound to his bass, and I just can't imagine The Prayer sounding any different than it does with Matt as bass. I believe their video of The Prayer will be nominated for a grammy award and may win. The other thing I love about Matt is his joy, his demeanor, his kind spirit, and his voice calms my anxiety down in ways that Avi didn't. I adore every member of PTX...Avi made them the top acapella group of KZbin. Matt is keeping them there. Can't wait until your next one of PTX!!!

I am a Pentaholic. Kevin is truly awesome and a total genius. The vocals are just amazing. I am also a drummer. For a song with drum in the title, the drums in nearly every version is kind of underwhelming to me. I do not know who posted it but a drummer played drums on his kit to the PTX version of this song. It was really well done.

Since you have an appreciation for Avi, you need to react to his solo music. The two I'd recommend to start are "Change on the Rise", his most successful original piece so far (released in March 2019), and his latest, "First Place I Go" (released Nov 12 this year). His writing tends toward Folk/Americana, pretty much a 180 from what he did in PTX, but a nod to the music he grew up listening to.
@ReactionsbyD3 жыл бұрын
Change on the Rise was fantastic I did do it :) Unfortunately whatever label or private business he is doing copyrighted it , so I had to just drop it in patreon :(

Have a listen to First Place I go and maybe 🙏🏻 react to it kzbin.info/www/bejne/goPTeIiIl6dmgqc Change on the Rise is another song that will get the blood pumping in your veins, it's just freaking primal. I hope you do! Have you heard or reacted to Pentatonix's Over The River featuring Lindsey Stirling? Oh my goodness..yeaaaa! Thank you for your reactions. 💚💚

@@ReactionsbyD It's the label unfortunately. Avi did a short livestream Q&A for the premiere of First Place I Go where he talked about the meaning of the song, to him and that it could apply to many different situations, he also mentioned that he likes watching reaction videos of his music...incognito lol. He gave a major shout out to one of the other reactors I subscribe to, saying he watches his videos. You will kick yourself if you give up trying to reacting to Avi's music.
